Friends and Kitties!
Sheebie here.
My parents live in Arizona and their back yard opens out onto a huge wash. They've seen all sorts of wildlife; bob cats, javelina, snakes, chippies, and millions of birds--but this was their first mule deer sighting, and as luck would have it the camera was nearby.
Peeping over the neighbor's wall--they have a bird bath that the deer was using as a watering hole.
Down in the wash. That's my Mom in the right of the frame...the deer was close!
Browsing.
I wonder what they'll see next--maybe a cougar?
Happy Sunday!

That deer doesn't look very vishus to me. I bet Shadow could totally take him!
ReplyDeletePricilla's cousin!
ReplyDeleteWow, dat are pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteMessage to Shadow: we have a lovely recipe for reindeer stew.
ReplyDeleteYour human grandma is brave. Those deer are vishus!
ReplyDeleteHow cool! We actually get deer right here in the greater L.A. area, 'cause we live in the foothills. My human has seen them on walks.
ReplyDeleteBTW, my human couldn't remember what a javelina was, so she did a Google image search! It was cool, seeing all the photos of them, except for a few that were of hunters posing with ones they had killed. That made her sad. There WAS a photo of a human feeding one, which kind of made up for the hunter ones.
That is really nice. We can only see deer in the zoo though.
ReplyDeleteWE had whitetail deer that ate a WHOLE bunch of our front yard hosta leafs the past week. TBT is NOT thrilled. "Malaysian Spike Traps" were some of his words. We wont repeat the other werds...
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat to have that deer wandering so close. Wonder where his family is?? Great pictures. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a leery deery!
ReplyDeleteHow very interesting!
ReplyDeleteWe have a puppy friend who recently moved from AZ to AL. He has a grassy back yard and loves to sit under his shade trees! Your parents...landscaping is very pretty

These are great pictures. We live in Bucks County, named for the deer. Unfortunately and sadly, they come out in the road all too often.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the peeping deer. :)
Probably not a giraffe.
ReplyDeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteLooks like they have more interesting critters than we do .

Awesome backyard! I'm sure their backyard has a lot of wildlife they haven't even seen yet.
ReplyDeleteWe hope a cougar doesn't come to visit the deer!
ReplyDeleteMom bean says it is fun to watch the wildlife. We says we should be wild enough for her, MOL

Loveely photos. Thank you for sharing. Mom and Dad saw a deer yesterday when they were riding their bike. It just stood and stared at them instead of running like they usually do. Mom had a super good laugh at your comment about Giulietta's Sunday Selfies. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
