This has NOTHING to do with Kitties...

...but it's too funny not to share!

Kitties, Daddy is Verreh Pickeh about bananas, they have to be *Just Right* to eat.
(Seriouslies, he'd make Goldilocks look like an amateur if she was judging fruit instead of porridge, beds, etc.)

Anyhoo, he took a bite of this one and it wasn't up to his rigorous ripeness standards...fortunately Mommy likes 'em rotten spotty so he decided to save it for her.  She about died laughing when she got home and saw it on the counter!  Who puts a plastic clothes pin on a banana?

And yes, she did eat it...in a smoothie, whizzed up with soy milk, fresh pineapple, and coconut.

Happy Tuesday!

  1. I think we felines should get a carer's allowance - after all, we are keeping these people out of the insane asylums, aren't we ? Honestly - that is just WEIRD.

  2. Humans have very weird eating habits! BTW, my human is picky about her bananas too - they have to be ripe, but not TOO ripe. Her boyfriend likes them greenish - when they get to ripe for him, he lets her have them but she usually has to wait another couple of days before they are ready for her.

If the bananas get too ripe and she is feeling ambitious, my human will make banana bread!

  3. Ha ha ha ha!

Hey, my mom is such a teatotaller that she can get a buzz from an overripe banana!

  4. Well, that's a creative way to keep little paws out of the banana.

  5. Hey, whatever works.

Our humans were just laughing about all the things we've seen people tie up their tomato plants with - pantyhose was at the top of the list!

  9. Mom likes her bananas when they just turn yellow.
However, lately she says bananas do not have taste like they did when they had the Chiquita sticker on them :/

  10. Ewwww, gross. Bananas have to be *just* ripe -- too yellow or heaven forbid, spots, and our human won't touch them. She's impressed with the clothespin, though -- very creative.

  19. TBT here: I cracked up! Bananas were always a source of contention when I was younger. Dad like them well-ripe, but we kids didn't so Mom always had to hide a couple for Dad. Now, when Dad was here with me in 2012, he couldn't imagine eating them "well-ripe" and wanted them bright yellow only! And *I* like them riper. Tastes change.

  20. I give Scott a lot of credit. My husband would have never put the clip on it and would have just left it on the counter. A smoothie was the perfect use for it!

  21. Mommy was laughing so hard, she started pounding on the kitchen counter. She is the pickiest nanner eater we know. If they are more than a day past green, she doesn't like them. She will gag them down in her cereal, but a banana that looked like that one would go in the fridge for banana bread or the compost bucket. And that's before it sat out on the counter all day with a bite out of it. Thank Scott for giving our mommy such a good, snort-worthy laugh. 26. I was so hoping to find companionship with Scott's banana-pickiness until I realized that his went the other way to mine. Mine is the eternal search for the green banana that is JUST the right side of actually crunchy. Actually crunchy is not good. But I am desolate, as ripeness is beyond the pale. Glad you enjoyed your smoothie. I think yours is the easier banana path. Mine, as ever, is barren. I sound like Henri le Chat. I feel like Henri.

  27. TW likes ‘em raw and Pop likes ‘em almost raw. TW also thinks size matters so she won’t buy them unless they’re HUGE!

  28. I'm as picky about bananas as he is. The clothespin in hilarious.

Honestly, Gordon will eat bananas so ripe, they look like roadkill. Major eeeeyuw!
