A One Year Update and a RE-Thank You

The Baby here.
A year ago things looked pretty bleak for me.  I was terribly thin, slept all the time, and was in considerable pain from Irritable Bowel Disease.  Nothing stayed down and I was constantly vomiting bile.  Mommy and Daddy were very afraid that my time was close...and Mommy decided to take the risk and have my innards surgically examined as a last-ditch effort to find out what was ailing me.

It was a really tough decision.  She had to do it (secretly) while Daddy was on vacation so he wouldn't freak out.  She wasn't sure I'd make it through the procedure, I was so frail.  She was a mess--as bad as me, actually--and then there was the expense.

Which you, my friends, so generously helped with, as well as the many many many e-mails, phone calls, and texts wishing me well and giving Mommy hope.  I want to thank you all so much, again, for everything!

Today you would never know that I had been so ill.  Sure, I've slowed down a teensy bit, but I am, after all, almost sixteen years old.  (Although you would never suspect it from the way she beat the tar out of a paper bag this afternoon--ed.)  I "get" a prednisone pill every day, and along with a canned food diet supplemented with lots and lots of real chicken, beef and bacon (!!!) I'm back up to a healthy 8 pounds of White Sassy Cat.  

So, once again, all of us here at The Lounge would like to say thank you for all the support.  Especially me.

    So that was a year ago ...... wowsers. We should maybe thank you, Bibbles, for having the grit and sisu for hanging on through all that and for keeping our blogs a dirty white for a year - and more! You done good, gal, and we also thank your Loyal Readers for helping out. We know how grateful and humble your Mom feels for all the support. Why should people we never met give money she kept saying. Because they loves you!

    Wow Baby we are glad to hear this good news. Somehow our human cannot remember you were sick, what a lousy secretary. But we are so happy to hear that you have bounced back from that setback and thanks to everyone who made your recovery possible. But it was up to you also, your fighting spirit made you get through it all. Purrs.

    The Baby, we're so glad you're doing much better! Our mommy remembers visiting the Lounge on the day you were first at the vet and your daddy was frantic with worry! Thank Cod you've improved and we're sending purrs that you continue to do well! We hope the other 12 are all doing well too!

    It's such a good ending for The Baby. I was sorry that I didn't know about her until just about everything was over. I had stopped blogging for about two months due to buying a house and moving. There really are so many that love you guys. The outpouring of support must have been so wonderful.
