Kitties!
Sweet Pea here.
Mommy was whaling relaxing on the sofa when she heard the cat flap flapping madly...there was a cat conga line through the door, and everyone was following me!
This could only mean one thing:
Prey!
It was a ginormous grasshopper kadiddlehopper.
Minus a leg.
Kitties, he was so much fun! Even in his compromised state he had us running and leaping all over the living room in pursuit.
(Mommy didn't have much time to do anything but grab a camera and start taking photos, so I apologise for the quality.)
He drew quite the crowd.
After a few tentative paw pats I gave it a taste. It was awful, which is why I didn't chase CC when he grabbed it from me and started crunching it down. (And foamed from the flavor.) Naturally this won't stop us from sampling any insects in the future--you never know--maybe there's an absolutely delicious variety of kadiddlehopper out there...yet!
Happy Thursday!

ReplyDeleteAngel Hercule told us that the taste was yucky, but grasshoppers are so much fun ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteIt's so tiny! You kittehz need the "Economy" size kadiddlehopper, so everybody can have a taste!
ReplyDeleteOh dat looks like fun, I luv chasin buggies.
ReplyDeleteGotta try them all!
ReplyDeleteCool, we KNOW that paper. We get it in some boxes. And is is so fun to roll around on.
ReplyDeleteOooooh! We're so jealous! Why didn't Mom take us to a more interesting place?? I mean, we wanted to stay home, but if we're first going on a holiday, we'd expect that she takes us somewhere where we can hunt!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like fun. I am sorry it tasted bad though. I have lots of grasshoppers here and they are very tasty and crunchy. Want to come over and catch some with me?
ReplyDeletefun....but ewwww
ReplyDeletecc just consumed some zen.
ReplyDeleteEver heard of the Darwin Awards? Given to humans who do such stupid things, usually causing their own deaths, that the world is happy that they haven't had children who would be stuck with stupid genetics...am thinking that grasshopper should get an award for jumping into an area with thirteen cats!
ReplyDeleteAt least you catch your prey! Charlie watched me catch a flying bug the other day...geesh! Maybe I need a younger kitty (don't tell him he is sensitive about his age:)
ReplyDeleteWow, that lil guy didn't stand a chance.
ReplyDeleteWow, what an exciting time you all had! But if you had to foam...it must have tasted seriously awful!
ReplyDeleteguys...FOAMED !!!!
ReplyDeletewho new grazz hopperz tasted like beer :)

WE like the picture where you kitties gathered around it like we see gather around a cockfight. That was a fun picture as I'm sure you had too much with the bug.
ReplyDeleteEmma and Buster
We are glad you were all on top of the hopper. OUR Mom would have been screaming her head off at the sight of that critter inside the house.
ReplyDeleteI had to look away. I like grasshoppers. :(
ReplyDeleteI ate a kadiddlehopper ONCE...and then I yakked. don't think I've had one since but they are still fun to bring into the house, play with, and leave under the furniture, minus a leg or two, for our mom to find

Whoa, they make you foam? We guess they're more fun to play with than as a snack....
ReplyDeleteYou know, we had an absolute invasion of them last year. My mom said she couldn't go anywhere outside without being assailed by them. Really though I think she was just making an excuse for all her windmill action in public.
ReplyDeleteWow! They grow those kadiddlehoppers big where you live. ;)
ReplyDeleteGood work- he didn't stand a chance with all of you.
ReplyDeleteA live interactive toy! Those are the best.
ReplyDeletePREY! In the house tastes the bestest!!!
ReplyDeleteKisses
Nellie
Maybe he has some tastier cousins close by. Foaming sounds a bit scary, though....
ReplyDeleteMom bean is sitting here laffing at the image of the kitty conga line. We was excited about the kadiddlehopper until the foaming started. Ick!

Sweet Pea...everyone was surprised when Calista Jo didn't eat the huge moth she brought Mom a few days ago. Astrid, however, is our bug eater and she was off doing something else. Your kadiddlehopper certainly got a lot of attention. Happy CC enjoyed it. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDelete*wide eyed look* Kadiddlehoppers make you FOAM? They must taste AWRFULZ!
ReplyDeleteOh, nice finger/paw licking good...
