Kitties!
Do you remember The Giant Caterpillars that were at our GrandPawrents house?
Well, Grandma & Grandpa Kat had some more visitors!
Meet our Arizona Cousins, The BobCat Twins!
Wait a minute...we said "Twins"!
Ahhh, here's the other kit...
The complete set!
These pictures were taken in the Spring, the kittens are about one third the size of an adult BobCat.
For reference, they're the same size as a regular HouseCat here.
They were regulars to the back yard, Momma Cat would leave them there whilst she went hunting for breakfast, probably Quails.
Momma Cat is a good one, this isn't the first litter she's stashed here, a couple of years ago she had triplets! She knows a safe spot when she sees one.
In fact, the GrandPawrents see quite a few BobCats. There's a BIG male that occasionally sleeps in the neighbor's raised flowerbed (YIKES!), and Momma sometimes naps on the back patio.
We hope you enjoyed seeing our cousins!
Happy Tuesday!
XX Lounge Kats
Yikea! They sure are cute, but I bet they aren't so cute to be around once they grow up.
ReplyDeleteWow! We are amazed at how close to humans these bobcats are--usually they are very shy. We were sad when we saw one close to our house because it's not terribly rural (although with some areas) and thought it was far to busy for a shy bobcat! Those two are so cute!
ReplyDeleteOMC!!! Rumblemum LOVES them, and their ears!! Hmmm... *enhancing tufty ears*
ReplyDeleteThey are so sweet....but somehow I think when they grow up they are not so cute. We wonder if your Mom would dare a tummy snorgle with them, hehehe.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful. I'm surprised that their mama leaves them where there are humans close by. I wonder how old they are.
ReplyDeleteThose wild kitties are very cute! Now our mommy wants to move to Arizona!
ReplyDeleteWow ! They look like little leopards. So beautiful Twin !
ReplyDeleteand I love your grand parents' garden.
Oh my dog...bobcats on da patio! Wowie zowie! Um, we gotta ask, is dey danjerus? We would play wif dem kitties if dey would not eat us. We just haf a feeling dat dey would or if not dem den momma bobcat would!
ReplyDeleteMy human has a great bobcat story... many, many, MANY years ago (like in the 1980s), her brother came home from hiking in the Angeles Forest with a little screeching kitten. Her mother groaned but was about to say, "Okay, we can keep it," (that's sort of how things usually went over there) when he said, "We can't keep it - it's a bobcat!" He found it drenched in a stream with no mom cat to be found. And it was the tinest baby with the sharpest teeth and claws and the biggest purr imaginable. So they took it to a place called Wildlife Waystation, but it took a couple of days to get that worked out, so my human's family took care of the baby bobcat for a couple of days. Eventually the bobcat and a mate were given to a zoo in Germany, where I assume they lived out the rest of their natural lives in comfort.
ReplyDeleteHow cute and kittenish. I bet they are much bigger now. They remind my Mom of the deer in our neighborhood - animals that really belong in a much wilder environment, but finding themselves mingling among people in the suburbs.
ReplyDeleteLovely! How cute they look. It's so nice to see them looking healthy too.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet warm photos~!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow how cool, those visitors are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAdorable pictures, thanks so much for sharing!

Your grandpawrents must be pretty special for that mombobcat to trust them with her kits. They're beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe Human says, "Want!" but I don't think she's thinking too clearly.
OMC! Wow! Just...WOW!!!! The mom would have her camera practically glued to the window! Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful!! I don't know how Id feel about the momma cat in my backyard!
ReplyDeleteThose really are gorgeous Bob cats. What fun to be able to watch them. Did they come back when they grew up?? That would be kind of scary. Guess they have their own places to go. Great pictures. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOMC what a treat that must be to have Mama Bobcat feel that you are trustworthy enough to watch over her babies. I cannot imagine how exciting that must be. They are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing,
Madi and Mom
how cool is that?
ReplyDeleteOMC I can't even imagine seeing bobcats in the backyard!
ReplyDeleteThose two look bigger than a housecat to me!
Wow! That is amazing!
They look beautiful. Are they a threat to domestic cats in any way though? Like .. they don't eat us up, or anyfin?
ReplyDeleteOMC - they are ADORABLE!! How lucky that the momma cat trusts your grandpawrents with her kits.
ReplyDeleteThose bobcats are beautiful. They make the birds in our yard seem very boring! We love the photos. Your grandparents must have fun watching them grow up.
ReplyDeleteWOW, they are stunningly beautiful fur sure!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a great experience...and what a vote of confidence to have a Momma Bobcat stash her babies at your house! : )
ReplyDeleteWow the bobcats kits are beautiful!!! Your grandparents are soooooooooooo lucky, I'd love to have bobcats in our back garden!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great pictures. They're so beautiful. What a good momma she is.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent pictures of the bobcats - how our mum would have loved to see them in the fur.
ReplyDeleteMEOWZA!!!!!!!!!!!! Those little guys are cuties, but we're not sure we'd want to meet their mama face to face!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletexxxxxxxxxx
I am absolutely envious and amazed and overtaken with the wonder of having Mama and babies in MY yard and PATIO! Oh what an HONOR! They are precious!!!
ReplyDeleteHow amazing they are! Such gorgeous creatures.
ReplyDeleteWow! They are so sweet and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHow COOL! Sometimes people see bobcats here, and one lady my mom works with has a picture of one she took in her back yard! We have never seen one though. We're kinda glad - we bet they have big poops, and we don't have a pool litter box like you all.
ReplyDelete"Squeeeeee!
ReplyDeleteThey're darling! Look at those spotty bellies and precious ears!"
ok mom, that's enough! Our turn......
As others have said how wonderful their momma knows it's safe to park them at your grandparents house while she hunts. Once they get old enough they probably go with her to learn the ropes. And look, they play just like us! Wonder what they'd do with nip!
Wow! Those Bobcats that close are cool! Meowm wants to pet them, but knows she might lose her hand if she tried.
ReplyDeleteThose baby Bobcats sure are cute, but we guess that they aren't too friendly with the pawrents.
ReplyDeleteHello sweet Sylvester!
purrin
xoxoxo
Gracie
Ooh, they look a bit dangerous...
ReplyDeleteWOW! I want ONE! How cool is that their mom knows a safe place. Do they ever come up to the door? Do they purr? Do the grands leave food for them? HOW COOL! Tommy just melted and said..ahhhh....I like their ears. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNoir
PS. Come over to my blog for a minute to see what my Brother Earl Gray did...!
Did you hear my mom squee? She couldn't help it.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, so many big cats named "Bob"! Even the mommacat? You'd think one of them would be named Joe or Bill...hmmm...
ReplyDeleteThey sure are adorable, but mom is telling me they might be a bit too much for me to handle!
Oh my cat! Wild kitties right outside your Gram's house!
ReplyDeleteThose bobcat kittens are really cute!! But we bet it's best to watch them from afar!!
ReplyDeleteHoly Cod! Wow!
