Kitties!
Rupert here, sorta. I'm alllllmost asleep.
It is ding-dang hot outside right now, and the humidity is up, too. Today it was 115 F.
It's pretty uncomfortable, even for Heat-Seeking Cats!
The only way to hang out on the Catio during the day is up against the house foundation, which is nice and chilly.
Do any of you remember the McDLT?
We're just like 'em:
Keeping the hot side hot and the cool side cool!
My sister Kona prefers the corner slot so she can prop up her little head.
Look at her liquorice toes!
My toes are mauvey grey.
I'm keeping one foot on Kona's tail, so she knows I'm here.
I've got your back, Kona...
...now let's enjoy our nap!
XX Rupert & Kona XX
Poor things..I feel for them. I can't imagine having a fur coat on in this blasted heat. I don't like humidity either. Stay cool kitties. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4
ReplyDelete115!! I sweat just thinking of that temperature!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, fur in the 115 degree heat. You take care now, kitties. Stay COOL!
ReplyDeleteIt's very nice of you to keep a paw on your sister Kona's tail. I bet she feels very secure knowing you're protecting her. Hope you kitties can get some relief from the horrible hots.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice kitty to keep your sister feeling secure.
ReplyDeleteYou both look so adorable like that! Keep cool, kitties!!
ReplyDeleteYou kitties are smart. Way smarter than your humans - I don't see THEM napping up against the house foundation.
ReplyDeleteOof, dat is hottttt! We haf da hots here but not 115, and we stay in da air conditioning...
ReplyDeleteStay cool furriends! Looks like you are trying your best. xo xo
ReplyDeleteWow kitties that is some hot you have there, not something we need ever worry about here in Ireland! Stay cool.

Rupert, don't your peoples even turn the air conditioning on for you? Heartless, I tell you, heartless! And even if they don't have any, that's hardly an exxcuse. it should have been installed straight away at the start of the hots for your comfort! Tell them this, and if they moan about how many green papers it costs, I'd suggest talking to the others and having everyone make a heap on the Mom and the Dad whenever they're trying to sleep, whenever they sit down, well, generally as soon as they're still. Your fur will give them even more of the hots than you've got. it should get the message across pretty quick...
ReplyDeleteWow - we don't fink we'd like the hots! Stay cool furriends!
ReplyDeleteYou two sure have the right idea. That does look like a cool place to nap. Hope it cools off for you soon. It is almost that hot here. It is not any fun. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWe don't like the HOTS either. M won't even let me outside cuz she don't want to go out to supervise. Dat makes me sad.
ReplyDeleteSnoozing and hots just go together naturally! Enjoy your snoozy everyone!
ReplyDeleteOh my! Went cant imagine the heat you all are going through! Drinks lots of water!!Purrs from Sage and Fizz
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Kona and gorgeous Rupert!!! You are both very clever cats for knowing how and where to keep cool!!!!
ReplyDeleteKona - me and Charlie just love your adorable liquorice toesies!!
Rupert - we love your shiny sparkly dazzling mauvey grey ones!! Yay!
Enjoy your naps!!! Take care

115 degrees is way too hot for fur coats. Something for the beach would be good! Poor kitties. It's about 70 here :))
ReplyDelete>^,,^<
115! I think the earth has broken out of it's orbit and is hurtling toward the sun.
ReplyDeleteLooks like there is lots of snoozing going on here today. That's a good thing. ;)
ReplyDeletexo Catherine
We can't even begin to know how hot 115 degrees feels - it's a good thing you know the coolest spots to take a nap.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
HOT HOT HOT!!! Only thing to do when it's that hot, is sleep.
ReplyDeleteBoy, that's sooo hot! Hope u stay cool. Quite a few degrees cooler for us kitties here in UK :)
ReplyDeleteCatio Felines,
ReplyDeleteIn Australia, sheep are shorn in summer as it gets very hot down there. Would consider shaving too? har har har *evil laughs*
We are glad you can find a cooler place to nap. Maybe this heat wave will break soon for all of us!
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday,
~ The Bunch
You guys sure can play dead well too I think!! You all look so comfy napping xoxox
ReplyDeleteStay cool all of you!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo here's my question: when you CAN (presumably) be inside in the a/c, do you actually CHOOSE to be on the catio, or do your humans send you out there for a time? On hot days here, if I ask to go on the deck and discover it is hot, I ask to come back inside fairly soon as I get uncomfortable in the hots. And I mean 20 degrees cooler than your version of hot!
ReplyDeleteI think that is way too hot for us. The Woman was thinking it was a little warm yesterday and it was almost 75. The Male is worried he'll over heat golfing today when it is supposed to be in the upper 70s! Yes that is as warm as it's gotten so far this year!
ReplyDeleteOMC. That is SO HOT. We are so happy it rained heavily this morning! You are a really good brother to Kona, Rupert.
ReplyDeleteThat's H-O-T! Definitely time for that cold air blowing thing.
ReplyDeleteYou are beautiful wall huggers. We really hope it helps keep you cool. There should be a law against desert heats.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll go take a little snooze after seeing these pictures.
ReplyDeleteMom Paula
oh Rupert....your handsone man catly face is mesmerizing..handsome and makes me very fainty. I haven't seen you close up like thos since you came to, um, help me out a week or so ago. Your mommy doesn't mind showing those scrumptious delectable licquorice toesies? What if there is a stampede of mommy's come to kiss them???
ReplyDeletexxxxx
115! We're melting at the thought but wouldn't mind nibbling on those licorice toes.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to know you all are doing your best to stay cool in the hot weather. Enjoy your snoozes. Hugs and nose kisses...oh, and have a great weekend.
ReplyDelete115 is really, really hot! You two must really love that catio to be out there in those hots but it's good you can keep your cool side cool! We love the close up of your sweet face Rupert!
ReplyDeleteRupert and Kona
ReplyDeleteWe have all the shades in the front of the house pulled down to keep the hots out. I'm on the peeps bed in their very dark cool room...life is good...plus no vet trips today.
hugs Madi
We feel for you, we at least cooled off (just over 100) with the monsoons. You kitties stay cool, drink lots of water, and no fighting. Too strenuous in that heat, just relax and conserve energy.
ReplyDeleteDear Kona and Rupert, you two are great buddies to stick close together and relax together in this heat.
ReplyDeleteIt is hot here.
Gramma told mom that Auntie Carla and Uncle Paul in Spain (yes they live there) are freezing their butts off having the coldest summer ever, temps in the 60s and wearing sweaters!!
They claim we are hogging the hot weather here in the US but really, we are more than happy to pass it on to them. Entire Europe is expericenciing the coldest summer on record!
bonks to all of you. stay cool and comfy. We have a/c here and Miles and I are not allowed to go outside ever, but we get to snuggle in the laundry!
bonks and more bonks
Whew we are getting kinds comatose around here now too!
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming to Pungy's Birthday Party! We all enjoyed that fresh nip you brought :-) And we had loads of fun playing wih all you guys! We're going to have to hang out again sometime. You guys are lots of fun!
Have a good weekend, and we'll see you later!
(((Hugs)))
=^~^=
I love naps too.I am going to go take one right zzzzzzzzzzz
ReplyDeleteIn that heat, a nap is the best idea to get through the day.
ReplyDeleteLook at them---staying all cool close to the house. I like those licorice paws too...YUM! Stay cool chums. Autumn will get here SOMETIME....sometime...I think..
ReplyDeleteNoir
Oh I imagine the heat there is terrible. We always have high humidity here in Michigan, but luckily it's not that hot right now.
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
115F! That is too hot. It's about 80F here...it feels cool when compared to 115F.
ReplyDeleteYou kitties know where to go. You are very smart. I hope you stay cool - and hope it get less humid.
115 has turned Heat seekers to cooler walls. Rupert you are a good brother to have your sister's back in this heat.
ReplyDeleteHaha! McDLTs!! That's what you are!!
ReplyDeleteThose are what I call "liquid kitties". Whenever it gets stinking hot here (although we haven't quite made it to 115F!), the cats are all loose and liquidy when you pick them up. :)
ReplyDeleteYou two are so lucky to have the best of both worlds! Hot and cool at the same time!
