Somber Selfie

Kitties!

May Ling here.
I'm in a reflective mood today, because I just read the news that Fiona, one of the delightful members of the lovely crew at The Cat On My Head (and sponsor of the Sunday Selfie Blog Hop) passed into the Great Beyond last Thursday, after a valiant battle with CKD.

This makes me sad.

Fiona, Mommy will look for your star tonight up in the heavens...godspeed, sweetheart.

Have a Happy Sunday and hug your loved ones...

Vale, Sylvester

Friends and Kitties,

The Mommy here.

It is with almost unbearable sadness that I am writing to tell you that Sylvester is gone.  We made the terrible trip to see the vet this morning.  He was refusing food--even his beloved bacon--and was unable to settle.

We are heartbroken.

I will write a fitting tribute to our giant Tuxie Catman in a few days, but for now I need to take a short break.

Thank you for all your loving and supportive comments and messages with Sylvester's final post.  I wish he had been around to do a few more but the cancer was just too fast.  You all are just the best folks I know, your support means the world to me.

Love,

Trish  xx

Some Sad News

Kitties~

Sylvester here.

I have some sad and bad news; I have cancer.
Last week I went to the vet for a full blood work-up and x-rays because I haven't been my normal self for a little bit and I've lost weight.  My bloods are fine, however, it was the x-rays that revealed that my innards are all wonky with fluid and abnormalities.  The vet said I could have an ultrasound and/or exploratory surgery, but that it would only confirm what type of cancer I have--and at this point it looks fairly advanced.  Chemotherapy might be a last-ditch option, but since I detest (so much) being poked, prodded, or otherwise examined Mommy and Daddy have decided against it.  I am getting antibiotics which have helped me perk up a bit, and also prednolisone to reduce the angryness of my innards.
So right now me and the Great Beyond are at a standoff--Mommy started a Good Day/Bad Day calendar and Daddy will keep a close eye on me too, to make sure I don't suffer.  I love and trust them implicitly, so I'm not worried about pain--I just wish I could stay longer so they don't hurt.  For now, I'm simply going to enjoy all the sunbeams, ham, and love I deserve.

I'll keep you all posted.

Love, and Happy Tuxie Tuesday~

Jumping In

Kitties!

CC here.

Mommy has been pretty sad lately, but I told her that sometimes you just have to pull up your socks* and leap back into the fray:
Thusly!

We are all very grateful for the kindness and love of our Readers--Kona's passing knocked the stuffing outta Mommy, but she's determined to get back in the swing of blogging because it helps her to feel better.

I'm doing my part, running around like a silly madcat...

Happy Thursday!

A New Sparkling Star

Kitties~

We had some very sad news yesterday.
Sparkle, our wonderful feline friend, author, and fellow blogger has passed.

We are bereft.

Her acerbic wit, unflagging comments, and never-ending scorn of Humans will be missed terribly.

We are sending our love out into the universe, and tonight we'll choose a star in the firmament to remember our blogging star Sparkle.

Please visit Sparkle's blog to leave a comment for her Human Janiss.

Thoughtful Thursday

Kitties!

We are a little sad and pensive today.

We've lost a lot of wonderful blogging friends lately; and although we don't do memorial posts or put up memento mori badges it doesn't mean our hearts don't break when we hear that another Excellent Pal has passed beyond our realm.

Because we miss our friends very much.

Instead, we choose to honor their memories by trying to give you something to smile about--life is so short, it only makes sense to fill it with as much love and laughter as you possibly can.
We hope our collage gives you a little grin:

And maybe a tiny chortle at our chatter?

Mommy snapped these with her phone yesterday while we were hogging the bed hanging with her while she rested.  We've all been camped out, taking turns with Nurse Duty.  Johnny's practically been nailed to the bed, although that might be more for the attention...he's a Ho for rubbins.  Salem and The Baby have spent a lot of time with Mommy too and of course gotten their share of luvvins.   Even Scouty took a shift! Naturally he didn't stay, but he sure as heck beat feet to hop up on the warm spot as soon as Mommy got out of bed.  Also, he's gotten up onto the bed--with Mommy in it--twice this week; made biskits on the stripey cat bed and settled in!  Not for long, but it's progress.  Maybe in another ten years he might allow Mommy to pet him.  Anybody wanna make a bet?

Happy Monday!

Friends on Friday

Friends--

Rupert here, and I haz a sad.

Yesterday, a very good friend of ours, Miss Admiral Hestorb, set sail on her final journey across the River Styx.
Miss Admiral was a wonderful saucy gal who was kind enough to flirt with a shy Grey Boy and make him feel like a million bags of Temptations.
We have her Mom Carole in our thoughts and purrs.

Until we meet again, Fair Lady.
We miss you.

Love,

Rupert, Maui, Felix, Tiny Johnson, Sylvester, CC,  Scouty, Grayce, May Ling, The Baby, Sweet Pea, KonaKitty, Salem,
