Kitties!

Mommy got a coupon for the local home improvement store and decided we needed she wanted some new things; to wit: a clean un-barfed-upon area rug and new cat-warmer (table lamp).  Pals, we she scored--both items for only a hundred bucks--and the old be-barfed blue rug is outside on the Catio now, available for warmer winter lounging.

Later in the evening we gave the new items a test run.

Now, here's the fun part...can you spot all six of us in this picture?  There's Miss Pea, The Baby, Maui, Tiny Johnson, May Ling, and Salem.

As you know, our Daddy has an Etsy store, Tie Dyed Hippy Wear...and it was only a matter of time before he started dying pet clothes...much to our (initial) dismay.

But you know what?  When Daddy told us what these instruments of torture shirts really were, we were totally "LET US AT 'EM", because he calls these sleeveless ribbed tees MOUSE-BEATERS!!!  And you know we are all about beating the mice.

Furthermore, these shirts are pretty comfortable!

  I weigh nine pounds (Mommy--Ladycats don't reveal their weight!) and this shirt is size Medium.

It doesn't make my butt look big at all.

Sylvester squeezed into a Medium, too...which shows the shirts have plenty of stretch to 'em...because he weighs NINETEEN pounds, ten more than ME!

The New Stuff

This is what Felix was exploring in yesterday's post:

A ginormous hutch/buffet/dresser/cabinet thingy!

And that's not all...

There's a matching table with two leafs, table pads, and six swiveling chairs!  All solid maple.

Mommy:  I've been scouring Craigslist (an online sell-your-stuff website) since September, looking for something to store extra kitchen stuff, and last week I found just the thing.  Originally I was looking for something either a) so badly beaten up it needed paint (a fun project) or b) something mid-century modern with a blonde finish.  As you can see, I got neither of those things and couldn't be happier, especially since it only cost--get this--$200!  I spotted it last Tuesday, called Scott to ask him what he thought, and when I got home from work it was here; Scott and his buddy Tee went and got it for me as a surprise.  It needed some cleaning, and there's a few nicks and scratches to dab some finish on, but we both love it.

Salem supervised me putting dishes out--Spitty-the-Kitty, can you guess whose tail is doing the photobombing?

Salem:  Can you believe this?  I wake up from my post-mid-afternoonish nap to see my swain (Tee) and Daddy hauling this thing in the house!

You would think she'd never seen furniture before, Mommy was that excited.

In reality, it's just a kitty jungle gym and climbing frame.

It took Sweet Pea took about two seconds to suss out how to leap to the top of the dresser!  Daddy had to set up a ladder to get her down involuntarily and Mommy blocked access to any further vertically-oriented athletic endeavors.

The table is still fair game though...

...as are the chairs...there's a soft blanket on all of them, including the two in Daddy's office!

Mommy, we approve of your new purchase.  It can stay.
