Do you remember my sisfur Sweet Pea assisting Mommy when she was folding the table cloth to tie dye it? 

 It's done!

This one was a test; it's a different weave so Daddy used a tried-and-true color combo on it--primaries and brights--so he could assess how well it took the pigments.  The next one will be in a more subdued palette but with the same pattern because Mommy was really pleased with the overall effect.  I'll model that one once it's finished, too!

The second exciting thing is that we have a winner (chosen randomly by Daddy) for the super-duper prize drawing in Friday's post.  D Ma, butler to the Boyz Theo, Diego-san, and Thompson!   

Their caption for the photo of The Baby on the sheepskin was: "that blanket used to be black", which totally cracked up up, The Baby does indeed shed enough to do that, LOL.

We'll be mailing out some CATIO CHIPS! and a fun mystery prize this week to the boyz, just as soon as D Ma sends us a snail mail addy.

Of course it goes without saying that CATIO CHIPS! make a great stocking stuffer for Catmas, and every other day of the year for that matter...and if you're not quite sure you would like them (but you will!) we have a sampler 1-oz size available in our store.

Whew.  This was a lotta news...we need naps...

Merchandising Monday

This an embarrassing (for her) photo of Mommy.

She's washing out some tie dye, wearing an old shirt of Daddy's, flip flops, and her groovy beanie.  Mommy is such a snappy dresser.

She did make some cool stuff though! 

A tie-dyed length of fabric.  This is t-shirt material, and she's gonna sew pillow cases with it.  Daddy can't wait--they will be for him.  

Perfecting peace signs.  This is a tea towel--and to be honest Daddy tied this one.  He made a bunch of them in all different colors.

Can you tell where this is going?

Yup.

Tie-dyed PET SHIRTS.

As if fur wasn't enough... 

...and in large enough sizes to fit everybody!

Apparently Cats in Shirts are funny (!!!) and Daddy was shaking too hard with laughter to get crisp photos.

But you get the idea.

Daddy had to chase Sylvester and Kona around to get them off after a couple of hours--seems like Felix* isn't the only kitty in the house who enjoys wearing clothes.

Modeling Monday

As you know, our Daddy has an Etsy store, Tie Dyed Hippy Wear...and it was only a matter of time before he started dying pet clothes...much to our (initial) dismay.

But you know what?  When Daddy told us what these instruments of torture shirts really were, we were totally "LET US AT 'EM", because he calls these sleeveless ribbed tees MOUSE-BEATERS!!!  And you know we are all about beating the mice.

Furthermore, these shirts are pretty comfortable!

  I weigh nine pounds (Mommy--Ladycats don't reveal their weight!) and this shirt is size Medium.

It doesn't make my butt look big at all.

Sylvester squeezed into a Medium, too...which shows the shirts have plenty of stretch to 'em...because he weighs NINETEEN pounds, ten more than ME!

Slightly Furious Friday

I'm modeling the latest Fashion Find here at The Lounge, a groovy, far out, custom tie-dyed Cat Shirt!

Daddy ordered a couple to see how they would turn out.

I got a wee tad fractious when he told me they were doggie shirts!  

(I know, it's not very professional to lose my stuff like that.  But, dog apparel?  C'mon, man!)

So this was Daddy's first attempt at dying small items, and he's wondering if anyfurry out there would be interested in purchasing one.  They would be "artist's choice", with either a primary color or bright color theme, and probably run $17-20 USD, plus shipping.  There are four sizes; XS, S, M, & L.  I have on a small, and I weigh (a svelte) 14.  Pounds.

These shirts are actually quite comfortable--knit cotton--I wore mine most of the morning before I needed to get nekkid.

Tie Dyed Hippy Wear

First of all, we want to express huge gratitude towards those of you who were brave enough (Scott's words) to help him kick off his business, like his page on Facebook, and most importantly, buy something--THANK YOU!!!  He's tickled to have an outlet for his creativity that other people actually want to wear.  The studio/garage is all set up with a photography area, A/C, deep double sink and his own private washing machine--I've actually found some of the regular laundry done (dried and folded) along with the shirts--they are completely colorfast after the initial wash out.

  Scott's been trying out some new designs:

He's found a black that really pops--I call these stained glass spirals

These make great sleep shirts for stubby gals like me.

There's yoga bags, totes, and other items, too!

Scott says his work has grown exponentially since he first started, and he's confident enough to do custom work, so if you see something in the shop you like but not in the right size, please drop him an e-mail.  I bought a blank tank dress that I want done in black-work, I'll post photos when it's done.

Miscellany

Friends and Kitties!

First off, here is what my poor husband has to endure, day in and day out...pandering to cats.

Back to front:  Sylvester, Felix, and Grayce (flashing her pink starfish).  Oh yeah, and Scott's in there somewhere.  Hint:  he's the one without fur.

So, stuff is plodding along here...we were delayed on the drywall repair which was actually a good thing, seeing how busy our week was.  One less ball to juggle = good.  Scott's pain wasn't too severe (as long as he takes his painkillers--stupid lug--he tries to go without because he doesn't want to get hooked) and he did some great work tie dying rainbow patterns and took a lot of new photos for his Etsy store.  He bought an extra-large sized mannequin for larger shirts and it's official name is "The Big Dummy" which naturally cracks us up every time!

Small minds...

The last time I visited my folks my Evil Dad showed me how to play Sudoku on his iPad.  Yes, previously I had to waste time in more pedestrian ways, like reading magazines, or scooping cat boxes.  I downloaded a Sudoku app to my Kindle Fire and stayed up far too late (night after night after night) solving puzzles.  After realizing I could load the app onto my phone, I played even more, everywhere.  Then Amazon sent me 500 coins for free to spend in the app store and my free time took an even sharper dive, because--Cod help me--I downloaded Bejeweled 2.

Curses.

I am hooked on that !!@#%!! game.  I play it obsessively.  Help!

Is there a Bejeweled Anonymous?

Because I do not want to attend.  Ever.

There's big stuff shakin' at work; the new computer program that runs the water system is starting it's roll out for testing, with some (surprising, to us Operators) success.  It'll take several months to get it all going, but finally I'll be able to work in the new control room out at the Lake plant!  I'm excited, the current room is a dank cave with skanky gross carpeting and poor ventilation; nothing at all like the Henderson facility which is a joy to work at.  Um, "joy" might be overstating it...after all, it is work.  The other newsworthy work item is that we are rebidding shifts--I'm third in seniority--and I am going to take an afternoon shift.   I'm sick and tired of getting up early.  Mom says that even as a tot I hated getting up early and I still do--I cuss the alarm clock out every morning.  Not a good way to start the day.  I used to work afternoons at my old job and I loved it, and I'm looking forward to doing it again, hopefully starting around November 1st.  I don't think it'll impact my (and the Kats) blogging any, although it'll remain to be seen how time for commenting works out.  Lately three days a week is the norm for leaving witticisms although I read 200+ posts daily.

Because there's Bejeweled to be played!
