Carton Cat

Kitties!

It's International BOX Day!

Thanks to Ann from Zoolatry for the image!

And can you believe it...we haven't had a decent box in the house for ages.
Mommy claims that Mystery Cat pees in 'em if left unattended.
LIES!
OK, maybe...

*ahem*

Anyway, we had to go back in the archives all the way to April to find a Cat-inna-Box photo, and look, it's me, Johnny, with my fur suit on!
You know what, there's only one thing better than a box.

A box with packing paper!
Bliss.

Happy Thursday!

Floofy White Wednesday

Kitties!

Sweet Pea here.  Me and Mommy were chatting he other day...

She's worried that my tinkle is still pink.  In fact, I earned myself another trip to the vet on Sunday (Daddy took me) who said I have to take a TWENTY-day course of antibiotics and keep taking the happy-happy pills.

I told Mommy I was rather unhappy about this!

hmmmm.  That's kinda a paradox...
BUT--and this sorta makes up for it--my arch-enemy May Ling also has to take the happy-happy pills, too.  The idea being that we both need to chill out and quit picking on each other, day after day after day when deserved.

Right now I'm feeling rather relaxed, though...perhaps just a little nap?

Mommy:  We all agree that Miss Pea's pinkle is stress induced.  The antibiotics are to help prevent any further possible infection and both girls are getting amytriptylline for a month (at least) to keep them both "calm".  These two nit-pick and stalk each other relentlessly, they really do NOT care for one-another...but since neither one is going anywhere we have to do what we can to help alleviate the problem.  Of course they get lots of play, love, and attention but sometimes there's only so much we pawrents can do--and the meds do seem to be helping the friction.  Fingers crossed that a few weeks of happy-happy pills will not only clear up Miss Pea's pee but reduce tensions as well...we hate to see our girls upset.  I am going to start adding corn silk supplement to everyone's wet food as a homeopathic supplement to soothe any angry bladders, as well.  Thankfully both girls are easy and I can pill a cat like nobody's business.

On a further note Grayce is much improved after a course of antibiotics and IBS medicine, so we are hopeful it's not lymphoma.  Scott and I don't want to subject her to any surgery (biopsy) so we have opted to treat the symptoms palliatively, and wait to see if she loses any more weight.
Thanks for all your purrs!  I'm convinced they really do help.

Happy Wednesday!

Saturday Siren Song

Kitties!

Sweet Pea here.
I don't always sit in Mommy's lap, but when I do it's here:

The Ebil Vet's office!

Yes, I got hauled off to see the vet...a couple of day ago I tinkled on the ESS--which is totally out of character for me--and when Mommy was wiping it up she noticed the tinkle was pink.  I tried to convince her that I was making PINKLE for Valentine's Day but she wasn't buying that story...and the next morning when I tinkled pinkled in the tub (which I DO do sometimes) Mommy was able to collect a sample...and then, the inevitable happened.

Damn, damn, damn.

Naturally I sang the dirge-like Song of My People in the car.
And on the sidewalk.
And in the waiting room.
Loudly.
Not even the yipping of fourteen hyper Flyswatter Dogs* waiting in the lobby deterred me from my caterwauling!

Of course, when we got into the exam room I decided to use my Indoor Voice (thank Cod--ed) and Mommy and I had a little inane civilized chat while I explored the top of the shelves.

see it HERE on YouTube

So...I have to take the Dreaded Pink Juice (amoxycillin) twice a day for ten days as a precaution.  Since I didn't have any visible bacteria or crystals in my pinkle Mommy and the vet are betting I'm stressed out from constantly sparring with May Ling (no kidding!) so I have to take a anti-anxiety pill every day for a month.  Fortunately Mommy is a champ at pilling and I get a tasty crunchy treat afterwards so it's not all bad.  And (for once) Mommy is hoping I'll whiz in the tub when she's watching--that's a first--and paws crossed my pinkle will be merely tinkle again in a few days.

Because after singing all elebenty-seven verses of The Song I need a nap, not a return visit!

Happy Caturday!

HURRAH!!!

Kitties, Mommy is leaving to go visit Shadow (and her peeps) tomorrow; so we can't make any promises about posting.  Hopefully, Shadow will keep Mommy whipped in shape and she'll do some remote reporting...paws crossed!  If not, we'll see you again next Monday!

Happy Monday, and have a Great Week!

Micturating Mancat Monday

Kitties!

Tiny Johnson here.

Do you know what our crazypants Mommy did?
She looked in a thesaurus to find an "M" word for whizzing!  Because she's a fiend for alliteration.

Anyway...some of you have expressed (pun intended) interest in our litterboxpools.  A few years ago after a windstorm a kiddie pool ended up in our neighbor's yard, and Daddy immediately saw the peeing possibilities.  For us, that is.  The rest is history!
We have two sizes--but we prefer the smaller one.  It's cozier.  We also have facilities (in the form of traditional litter boxes) located throughout the house and a box in the Little Out, too, just in case.

The pools are quite simple to use...
...and they're nice and spacious for a Plus-Sized Cat such as myself.  Just look at all the options for tinkling, and other stuff.  You know.  Pooping.  Not rolling around in the sand like one of us--no names but whose initials are CC--has been known to do!

There's acres and acres of sand to dig and bury in, if you're the covering type.

And egress is so easy...always a plus if you like to charge out of the box and run around like your pants are on fire when you're done.

Happy Monday!
