Thursday in the Garden with The Baby

Kitties!

The Baby here.

Do you remember a post I did a while back about the Lime Lemon Tree?
(If you missed it, you can read about it HERE)

Well, Mommy and Daddy wised up and waited this year for the Lemons to ripen, and look!

Ripe lemons!

Time for pasta with fresh lemon caper sauce, fresh lemon buttered fish, lemon zest scones...you get the idea.

The Oranges are coming in too!  The freezy weather in December was hard on the Orange tree, but it pulled through and the fruit is ripening up.  We picked the first one today.

Today it was 65F and sunny in our back yard.  The warmth felt wonderful on my furs.
I had a sun-n-tongue bath.

We all had fun out on the Catio...Daddy put out some bird seed and we chittered at birdies all day!
Pictures tomorrow...

Happy Thursday!

  6. Our lemon tree is a bit slow so we have been getting lemons from our neighbor's tree. It pokes through the fence at just the right angle. We are supposed to have some warm weather this weekend, yay!

  11. We can't believe you have a lemon. Our lemon/lime tree never produces fruit. We are sure it is Mommy's fault somehow.

  12. We can't believe you have a lemon tree (and orange tree), either. But that's because we can't fathom living somewhere WARM enough for them! Especially in January! The mom bets fresh lemon is ever so much better than the lemon from our grocery stores (which were probably picked weeks and weeks earlier).

  16. ::clapping paws::

    That is awesome baby! Real live lemons from your very own tree! I think you deserve a special award as a Garden Society member, just for giving us all hope of things to come. Not that I can grow lemons here in the Pacific NW...but mom could buy me a heated greenhouse. She really could.

  21. Wow. warm weather. You guys are so lucky . Of course here in the Midwest were I live we are still in the deep freeze, and up to my butt in snow. So all I can do is train for the 2011 indoor catlympics (well I would if they had some) and I have gotten pretty fast at runny through my tunnel and across the house into my cube.
