The Demise of Mister Kadiddle Hopper

 Kitties!

Sweet Pea here.

Look what I caught last night!
A Kadiddle Hopper!

He was tasty AND fun...he squirmed ever so delightfully betwixt my slavering jaws.

When I was done with Sir Kadiddle I ferried him out to the Catio for General Amusement purposes...

...and hopped up on the blue spool to enjoy the show.

Maui wasted no time to sample Mister Hopper's Crunchy goodness.
Mommy was all "Eeeeewwwww, GROSS!!!" during the chewing parts, but she kept on shooting.
Mommy is a real trouper.

Maui moved the Kadiddle over to the other carpet for further fun and games.

He showed Scouty how to play.

Scouty gave Mister Hopper a left hook...

...followed by a right cross!
After that, Mister Kadiddle Hopper was, erm, "done".

Then Maui ate Mister Hopper, and he didn't foam!
He must have a cast-iron stomach to go along with his crazypants.
What a fun evening.
We all slept like logs after the excitement.

Happy Tuesday!

  2. Wow, none of the cat kids here have ever caught a grasshopper. I bet they would like that ... but Mom would probably take it away like the lizards they catch.

  3. I am SO envious! If my human ever caught me with one of those, she would make me let go of it and then she'd put it outside so I couldn't kill it! My human is so mean!!!

  4. The Human coverred her eyes and put her fingers in her ears and went la-la-la-la-la-la while I read this post and laffed and laffed. Mmmmmm, crunchy bugs!

  6. We are so so so jealous. That looks wonderful and we never get anything like that here. The photo with Sweet Pea grinning from ear to ear is just sheer bliss.

Äiti wants to know if the grasshopper juices affect feline poop. She's just too nosey.

  11. one summer, we had too few bugs, and poor Willow had none to hunt. So I bought her a few crickets from the pet store. I felt terrible doing so, but she loved them so!

  23. I has never seen a hopper. M said she hasn't seen any for quite a few years. Now she's wondering why we don't have any anymore! What happened to them?

  24. YOUR mom wouldn't scream and toss away a bag with a vibrating, buzzing "dead" bird, we bet. YOUR mom rocks!

Does grasshopper taste like chicken? Or maybe like moths? We've never had a grasshopper.

  29. They are good raw, aren't they, kittehs. Next time you could try them fried and finished in a dark chocolate glaze. Food for thought.

  30. Mom said, "Ewwwwwww," but we think that bug looked pretty tasty. Small spiders and crickets are delish too! We highly recommend them.

Great hunting Sweet Pea, and your generosity knows no bounds.

  33. Ewww. I don't have the stomach you do for this. Anytime a creepy crawly gets in the house, I get all squealy and immediately dispatch said crawly before the boys can devour him. Then they spend the next 20 minutes looking at me with sad eyes because I killed their new best friend. LOL

  34. That first photo of Baby is hilarious!

Out uncle, Tinker, RIP, was an excellent bug catcher and loved grasshoppers. He's catch them and eat them so fast it's a wonder he tasted them.
