We had TONS of fun hosting the Counter Surfing event.

It's Prancer Pie teaching little bro Princeton not only the fine art of counter surfing, but also synchronized snarfing!
Here's Sadie, boldly surfing in front of the kitchen sink. Mommy laughed, the picture file was called "caught".

Our final entry is Utah, one of the fosters at Random Felines...he started surfing as a tiny tadpole!
Kitties, we have a confession: We couldn't choose a winner, and Mommy really wanted EVERY entrant to win, so we pronounce ALL the contestants GOLD MEDAL WINNERS!

Some of you wrote us that you were "Not Allowed" on the counters, and couldn't participate...and we feel a little bad about that. Next time we'll do a more inclusive event!

ReplyDelete"Not allowed" -- I do not understand these words. I have HEARD them, as in "Spitty, you are NOT ALLOWED on the dining room table" but I have never comprehended their meaning.

Wow! High paws to the winners! That was some pawsome surfing! We are not allowed on the counters (something about their business and the jams and jellies they make - blaa..blaa..bla...So we make sure the peoples NEVER EVER sees us!

Isn't that the point of counter surfing? Of course we're not allowed...but who cares? That's what makes counters so fun.

ReplyDeleteThese are utterly brilliant pictures, and we do agree with your Mom that there's no way to choose a winner. However Äiti is a bit worried ai am going to 'throw a strop' as two girlcats from perheeni (my family) have won and I haven't won a medal yet. She might be right..... my whiskers are twitching........I feel the need to find a ninja...........

Thank you for hosting the event. And we think that it's a good event, as there is no such thing as 'not allowed'.
We are not allowed on the counter tops either. But do you think that would stop us? No way. Unfortunately to get any photos we would have had to admit this to our mama.

ReplyDeleteWe're "not allowed" on the tiny bit of counter we have. The mom knows we get up sometimes, when she's not around, but frankly, there's so little space and nothing of interest to us!
What a great group of surfers! Definitely the kind of cool cats I like to hang out with :D Who ever heard of not bein allowed to surf?!

At the time of going to press, Austin's illegal counter surfing case is coming up before the beak. Sadly the evidence is only circumstantial, so the chances of a conviction are remote.

Congratulations to all the winners. That was some fantastic counter surfing. he he - I'm one of those deprived kitties who is not allowed on the counter in the kitchen. I am allowed up on the counter in the bathroom tho - go figure. What's the difference between the two!

ReplyDeleteI am so glad to know other people turn a blind eye to cats on their counters! Jenna rarely gets on the counter, but Sissy thinks she has to eat her canned food on the counter.

We think you should stick with the counter surfing event! it's obviously popular and not everyone can enter every event anyway!

We are envious of all the contestants. WE werent allowed on the counter even for entry pictures!
ReplyDeleteOMC!!! We never expected any medals! Especially not any gold ones! Honest, we've even been bad about keeping up with all the events on account we not hoping too big. Our fun was in entering. But gosh, just thank you so much. Our little kitty hearts are just so delighted happy!
