Frazzled Friday

Kitties!

Teh Mommy here.

Well, it's been an absolute maelstrom of activity here; but it's not quite done yet.  The painting is complete, the baseboard ordered (installation in about a month), the electrician is coming tomorrow to change out some outlets and switches.  Oh, and speaking of electricity, we are officially on SOLAR POWER and off the grid!  We still have to put up or pictures and decorations...that's Scott's metier and he'll do that over the weekend while I'm at work and unavailable to offer unhelpful poor placement suggestions, LOL.

In sad news, our The Baby is one sick kitty, and spent four days at the vet.  She's back home with antibiotics and milk thistle to take for the next three weeks and then a follow-up blood test.  Her white blood cell count was astronomical and some of her liver enzymes were also off the chart.  The vet suspects either a tumor(s) or possibly an abscess on her liver.  We're going with conservative treatment for now, but exploratory surgery may be needed for a definitive diagnosis if she doesn't respond well.  This latest excursion cost us nearly $900, so if the surgery happens we may be asking for donations--it will be in the neighborhood of $2000--and as much as I hate to ask I know all of you truly understand how madly we love this little white cat and want her well, if we can.  Right now she's sacked out on the catio, and the first thing she wanted to do when she got home was go on patrol (a short one) outside.

So, in the next few week if you could keep Bibbles in your thoughts we'd appreciate it very, very much.

I'll have more photos to show of the house soon...and I PROMISE to contact those of you wanting a tour of the Catio at BlogPaws next week.  Sheesh.  Life is Busy.

Happy Friday!

Truncated Thursday

Kitties!

No photos (or much of anything else) for today's post...yesterday there were contractors in the house doing drywall repair, contractors on the roof installing solar panels, and the dreaded mobile groomer made her annual appearance as well...and now FOUR of us are nood.  We spent the day herded, huddled, and hiding on the Catio...

That is all.

Happy Thursday!
(it can't be any worse than Wednesday--can it?)

The Terrible, Awful, No-Good Day

Kitties!

It's been a terrible day here at the Katnip Lounge.

1.  When Daddy left for his FIRST doctor's appointment at 7 AM he discovered the hot water heater had died and puked it's watery guts--all 40 gallons of it--onto the garage floor.

2.  Daddy's appointment was actually for the day before, but they worked him in.  However, he had to wait a bit...which made:

3.  Getting to his SECOND doctor's appointment an adventure in high-speed driving.

4.  The hot water heater was under warranty, so it was replaced for free.  However, Mommy and Daddy had to haul it back to the hardware store to exchange it...

5.  ...AND go back three more times for parts!!

6.  Then, they had to clean the garage.

Admittedly, none of these thing have any direct impact on us, except Mommy is a wee tad stressed.  She says all she wants to do is gobble a Xanax and post a gratuitous kitteh pic--so here you go!

Happy Wednesday!

Sunday with Sheebie, Dad, and Spouse

Friends and Kitties!

Sheebie here.

First off, Happy Father's Day to all the Dads and Pet Daddies out there!
Keep up the good work.

Here's a couple of handsome men for y'all:

My Dad, wearing his snazzy new "Universe" tie die shirt from this guy:

my Hubby!
Who is a pretty damn good human/cat Dad himself.

I love you guys!

KNEE NEWS:  The knee is healing.  I went online and researched how bone heals and it's fascinating!  It follows a specific pattern, and can take up to five years to fully remodel a fracture.  Mother Nature is truly amazing.  Anyway, right now it's achy and tingly--right on schedule--I'm at nearly three weeks and the cellular latticework for the bone cells that lay down mineral bone is almost complete.  I have X-rays Monday to assess how it's coming along, and my Doc said if he's satisfied with my progress I can start physio in another week.

I went back to work (light duty) on Friday.  For liability reasons there was another employee working with me so all I had to do was sit and click a mouse.  I am going crazypants not being able to simply move!  Not to mention the mountain of workman's comp paperwork I've had to fill out--I'm never having an accident again--says Trinka the Klutz.

HOME NEWS:  I think the other (final?) shoe has dropped in the home repair department, Thursday afternoon the electric garage door open caught on fire!  Scott was inside the garage when it happened (thank heaven) and he unplugged it right away.  *whew*
We discussed that there's nothing left to go wonky so we should be good to go...

PARK NEWS:  Well, if I wasn't a total cripple I'd have tons of photos to show you, maybe even a video!  Instead, you'll have to make do with me saying that it's the nicest park I've ever seen out here, bar none.  I'd estimate work is about 85% done, but then again I thought that six months ago.  And last week they carved out a bunch of new pathways for walking so who knows what might be next.

Now, I have to go whale on the sofa, doctor's orders.

Happy Sunday!

Thank Cod the week is over...

Friends and Kitties!

Sheebie here.

It's been the Week from Hell here at Casa Cerecke.
I'll spare you the gory details and just make a list:

1.  Scott went to the dentist a total of THREE times to clear up a gum infection caused by a stinkim' raspberry seed.  (He's on the mend.)

Q.  We had to replace the tires on the Explorer.

*.  The water softener went on the fritz.  Sears fixed it.

elebenty.  The plumbing under the kitchen sink is leaking.

12.  Scott tie dyed several items and something went wrong...let's just leave it at that...

9.  The water stain on the ceiling that we thought was caused by driving rain?
*WRONG*
Turns out our A/C condensate pan in the attic was completely rotted out...and our 22-year-old furnace is shot, and the A/C unit is ten years old.  We need a completely new system.  And a new ceiling, too.  Fortunately my folks are absolute stars and are footing the bill.  I'd like to publicly state for the record that my Mom and Dad are the BEST parents a rebellious neurotic daughter could have.  Ever.

Yikes.

Next week our house is gonna be a hive of activity.  Tuesday is the plumber, who is also going to hard pipe in the new deep sink in the garage.   Wednesday is the HVAC system, which means on Tuesday we need to move TONS of crap out of the walk-in closet so they installer dudes can get to the attic hatch.  Plus somewhere in there the insurance adjuster will turn up, and the guys for the solar panels (whole 'nother story) are coming to measure and do the prep work--also in the attic.

And, as if that's not enough to worry about, my step-daughter Ashley (who is an absolute peach) had back surgery on Thursday to remove the hardware in her spine.  She has had a persistent infection since her spinal fusion surgery a year ago--I can't go into details because there's a lawsuit pending--but we were worried about her, too.  She lives in Virginia with her husband so of course we can't just hop in the car and go see her, which is frustrating.  The preliminary reports are that she'll need IV antibiotics thru a PIC line for at least six weeks, and then reconstructive back surgery, eventually.  She's been pretty upbeat, considering; of course she's getting some pretty good drugs, too, LOL.

So, how about some Yellow-Headed Blackbird photos?
Scott shot a slew of 'em (in his bright shirt trying to be unobtrusive crouching in the driveway) and I'll be posting more later in the week for the Kats but here's a few fun ones:

He's a pain in the butt!  Always hiding...do you see him?

Hiding, again.

Finally, out in the open!

Scott counted as many as five males at one time, so we have a flock; I'll be interested to see if they remain.  We have the habitat they prefer; that is, if they don't mind staying at the Disaster House!
Thank goodness we have kitties to snorgle...

Happy Sunday, and may your week be Dull!
