Hippy Dippy Doody

Kitties!

Tiny Johnson here.
This may look like nothing more than a photo of me squatting in the litter pool, but that's exactly what it is; a photo of me squatting!

After the infamous Anal Sac Experience I was still making use of...ahem...''inappropriate" areas to poop, like my heaty box bed, so the peeps decided on another vet visit for x-rays of my innards.  Well, it turns out my innards are fine, but I have severely arthritic hips. (We figure the only way TJ could go comfortably was laying down, we feel terrible.--ed.)

The vet gave me Metacam, which has helped tremendously, as you can see.  I'm back to laying large logs in the litter pool and I've been much more apt to venture onto the higher levels of the cat trees. and in the apartment house on the Catio.  The peeps think I'm less clingy, too.
(I am NOT clingy--it's called Snoopervision.)

The vet said Metecam can impact my kidney function, long term, so she did a baseline kidney panel.  I'm pleased to report I have the kidneys of a kitten--so I only have to have blood work done every six months and follow up x-rays if I start limping, etc.

I'm so happy to feel less creaky, and the medicine isn't icky at all--Mommy squirts it in my mouth and I don't fight or foam--and I get a treat afterwards!  Hopefully I'll feel good for a long time now.

Happy Monday!

A Status Report, By: The Baby

Kitties!

The Baby here.

Some of you may have read on Facebook about my impromtu vet visit on Monday.

First off:  THANK YOU all so much for your purrs!  They worked, because;

Secondly:  I am back to my sassy spoilt self.

It was very strange--Monday morning I was in fine form, pestering Mommy requesting my cream dot  (without the coffee, natch) and pacing for pets and loveys--but by the time Mommy got back from yoga at 11:00 I was hunched up and visibly shaking, obviously in pain.  So the peeps packed me up and whisked me off to see Dr. Auggie tout suite.  I had only a very slightly elevated temp (they took it TWICE) so given my history of irritable bowel disease I got an injection of Cerenia for nausea (with pills for later, if I need 'em) and Clavamox for infection, just in case.  And all of you were purring for me!  So by 6 PM I was much better.  I had several long drinks at the water fountain (and pooped), and ate a big midnight snack when Mommy got home from work.

Hopefully, my distress was nothing more than a passing thing.  I had eaten some dried kibble the week prior and Mommy thinks that may have irritated my innards.  No more of that for me!  Which is kind of a bummer, but I'd rather not have to see the vet again until my next check-up, and not a moment before.

Thank you again for keeping me in your thoughts.

Happy Thursday!

Mystery Yak

Kitties!

Some kitty is feeling mighty fine this Friday:

This magnificent specimen (and it's baby brother) was on top of the washing machine Thursday morning.  Naturally, Mommy whipped out her phone and trusty measuring tape for documentary purposes.
Her only query was this: whodunnit?

Any ideas?

Crinkly Caturday

Kitties!

Felix here.

Yes, Fee-licks, not Feligs!

My cold is much better, even though I'm still a little squinty in my left eye.
I want to thank you for all your purrs, they helped me tremendously.  Can you believe I was sick for nearly two weeks?  Mommy was quite worried about me, but I'm almost 100% back to my usual eccentric self, and eating like a trooper (canned HAM!) to make up for all those missed meals that I couldn't smell (or eat).
Even better, no more gross tasting medicine for me...Mommy's newest victim patient is Maui, who is not nearly as sick as I was, but is still getting the icky-poo-poo juice "administered" twice daily.

heh.

Anyway, on to Catly business:
Just who is under all this paper?

to be continued...

Caturday!

Kitties!

The Baby here, with some photos taken pre-surgery...my arms and tummy are all bald and stuff right now so I told Mommy to use some older pictures.
Check out how pink my ears are...it's sure been HOT on the Catio!

In fact, it's so HOT, I'm melting right into the floor of the Apartment Complex.

Mommy laughed and called me "Miss Flatty Flat Cat"...how rude!  But she did eat my tummy afterwards to make up for it, and I really liked that.

Kitties, I am feeling a bit stronger every day.  I was pretty wobbly at first, but the peeps are stuffing me full of nutritious shaved deli ham and poached chikkun and roasted turkey and bacons*, as much as I want (score!!!) and Mommy put my fleece-lined box in the lower kitchen cupboard, where I decided to convalesce.  (Mommy couldn't find me early Sunday morning--she woke up at 4 AM worried about me--and ran around freaking out until she remembered that I can open the cabinet doors and thought to look there.  heh. )  The Vet called last Monday and talked to Mommy for over a half-hour and they decided I'll start prednisone therapy next week along with a change of foodables for all of us, although that will happen gradually.  Mommy will monitor my "output" and Daddy will assess how I'm feeling (he's really good at that) so between the two of them they should be able to make a good assumption as to how my innertube is doing.  I've resumed my morning pee patrols Outside and I leapt up onto the counter yesterday evening (to Mommy's dismay--I'm supposed to take it easy, whatever that means) in order to snoopervise the turkey distribution.   So things are looking up...thank you once again for all your purrs and support, and I'll keep you posted on my progress!

Kitties!

The Mommy here.

An Open Letter to the Katnip Lounge Krew:

Lovely Felines of the Catio, Greetings.

As your Mommy I realize it is my onerous duty utmost pleasure to feed, groom, water, scoop for, play with and love all of you.

However.

I can do without certain physical manisfestations of reciprocal affection, to wit:

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely, and with the Utmost Love,
  The Mommy
