Kat VS Kadiddlehopper

Kitties!

Sweet Pea here.

Mommy was whaling relaxing on the sofa when she heard the cat flap flapping madly...there was a cat conga line through the door, and everyone was following me!  

This could only mean one thing: 

Prey!

It was a ginormous grasshopper kadiddlehopper.

Minus a leg.

Kitties, he was so much fun!  Even in his compromised state he had us running and leaping all over the living room in pursuit. 

(Mommy didn't have much time to do anything but grab a camera and start taking photos, so I apologise for the quality.)

He drew quite the crowd.

After a few tentative paw pats I gave it a taste.  It was awful, which is why I didn't chase CC when he grabbed it from me and started crunching it down.  (And  foamed from the flavor.)  Naturally this won't stop us from sampling any insects in the future--you never know--maybe there's an absolutely delicious variety of kadiddlehopper out there...yet!

We were sorta sad that this bug was too big to eat.

Or at least, that's how she refers to this pose.  The correct Sanskrit name is Kurmasana, or Tortoise Pose; something she thought was appropriate because our Finnish friends' tortoise Tessie has just woken up this week from her long winter's nap.  heh heh...Mommy had grave doubts that Tessie was even alive when she peeked at her, hibernating beneath the bookcase--shows her how much she knows!

And yup, that's Maui photobombing the upper left-hand corner...the peeps can't do anything around our house without a Cat Inspector.  It's a rule.
