It's been a madhouse here at the Lounge.

More than usual, anyway.

There's been noisy destruction construction going on!

Mommy and Daddy decided to take out the leaky window on the South wall of the dining room.  It was pretty useless; it looked out onto the alley between the houses and there was NEVER anything good to see out there.  The Bird TV reception was non-existent!  Plus the shade was always down.

Mommy got home from work just in time to inspect and run the vacuum cleaner.  She thought that was pretty coincidental--NOT.

The Baby was first on the scene afterwards to check out the improvements... 

...and then THIS showed up the next day!

Kitties, we had 92 commenters--you guys are top notch experts at picking Mommy's pockets--you should have heard her bitc... groan, heh heh.  She's gonna round up her donation (at our oh-so-clever suggestion) to the Nevada SPCA to Fifty Dollars, and there's even better news!  Our fabulous blogging pal Savannah left us this comment:

Our Millenial Payback Party Post!

Welcome to our ONE THOUSANDTH post!

(yes, it is a word!)

We have scads of fun stuff to eat and do...and naturally, we have devised a devious two-part plan to a) punish Mommy for leaving us and b) not blogging (or commenting) for two weeks.  It involves parting her with money...but more on that later.

First, let's munch some foodables!

We decided on a simple theme; surf, turf and air.

Sylvester is manning the drinks cart, he can whip you up anything you desire, and there's cream for the kitten crowd (and designated drivers).

Plus, there's plenty of room for games of Tag, Chase, and Scare the Pants off of Each Other.  We have directed Mommy to leave the beds unmade for napping, and Daddy has the gardens freshly tilled for en plein air whizzing.

Whew!  Did everybody get enough to eat?  Sufficiently frolic'ed?  Ready to hear our fiendishly clever plan?  Good!  Because we are gonna really sock it to the Thumbed Wench this time with a commentathon--to be donated to the Nevada SPCA--we will make Mommy pay 50 cents per comment (one per blog, please, we do wanna eat this week) on this post!  We'll keep a tally until 10 AM (PST) Wednesday morning when we'll conduct a final count to arrive at the punishingly wonderfully large (we hope!) sum.  

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

But wait, there's MORE!

We will also draw one comment at random for an Awesome Surprise Gift!  In fact, it's so much of a surprise even we don't know what it is yet...but we're sure that it'll be something good!

Monday's the big day--it'll be our ONE THOUSANDTH post, which is our Highly Interesting News.  Many of you heard a dog barking in our last (video) post and speculated that the peeps brought home a woofie...I'm happy to report that even though the peeps are crazy, they're not nuts!

To celebrate our millennial post we're gonna have a pawty, a commentathon for the Nevada SPCA, and some fun door prizes, too.

Mancat Mischief Monday

We pulled a fun prank on Mommy last week!  Do you want to know what we did?

Come close and I'll whisper it in your ear. 

OK...can you hear me?  Here's what we did:  January 3rd was our good friend Savannah's very first Gotcha Day, and to celebrate she had a commentathon to raise money for the Contra Costa Humane Society.  This is from Savvy's blog--

"Mom said “I will donate, from my allowance for January, $.5o cents USD for EVERY COMMENT FROM ONE VISITOR…then last night Dad said “I will see your $.50 cents and raise you $.25 cents USD…making it $.75 cents USD”!  What a Dad!!!"

Well.  You all know that our Mommy has moths in her wallet she's so miserly, and we're always looking for fun ways to coerce her into spending her money, so WE left a comment on Savvy's blog saying we'd donate twenty-five cents extra for every comment she got, bringing the total to ONE WHOLE US DOLLAR per comment! 

Are we devious or what?

ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

Mommy just about had a cow when she found out what we'd done.  I said "pbbbbbttht" to her and told her to pony up. 

After all, she can't stay mad at a face like this, now can she?

I was having a fine dream about handsome Mancats, before Daddy rudely started snapping photos and woke me up.  I'll let it slide this once though, because I have some scintillating news--our commentathon for Ms. Stella's Footie Fix was a tremendous success!

You all came through with the comments and really put the screws to Mommy; she has to write out a check for over fifty dollars.

Frantic Fiscal Friday

The Baby here, with an Our Revenge Commentathon update!

So far, it's been a highly successful strategem on both fronts...we've raised OVER forty dollars for Ms. Stella O'Houligan's Footie Fix, AND Mommy is all panicky and stuff, thinking about writing out a big whopping check!  It's great.  She'll think twice before leaving us again.

The only downside is we've had to put up with her checking the blog (every 37 seconds--*sigh*) all day and listen to her screech at the rising comment count.  

Maybe next time she'll fill out the correct forms--in triplicate--requesting an authorized Leave of Absence, (which we will deny) and not just flit off hither and yon with no warning. 

Perhaps.

Meanwhile, I am completely uninterested in her whining. 

Salem has no qualms, either.

Tough Teaties, Mommy.

Mommy is CHEAP! And also Revenge.

As you all know, our Mommy went away on vacation for a week without our permission, and we've been waiting for an opportunity for payback.

Today, that moment arrived.

I'm proud to be a member of the Pet Blogosphere, which has so many caring folks. 

I sleep soundly, knowing that we look out for one another.

What does this have to do with our revenge? 

We're appealing to your kindheartedness to hit Mommy where it really hurts, in her pocketbook!  She's a terrible cheapskate--you guys need to free the moths in her wallet.

We're holding a commentathon for Ms. Stella O'Houligan, who had to have her middle toe amputated last week.  The vet's bill came in at nearly a thousand dollars, and her Mom needs some help--so we will force our Mommy to donate 50 cents per comment, from now until Midnight PST on Sunday, 7/29/12 to Ms. Stella's surgery costs.

In other OTHER news, Mommy was contacted by Ekin Oklap, from "Eulogy" magazine, a couple of weeks ago to contribute a story about Death.  Now this sounds really awful, but it's not.  Dying happens to all of us, and it's important to remember the Ones that Have Come Before, and celebrate their lives.
Mommy has learned something from all of you in the Cat Blogosphere, and that is when one of us grieves, we all do, and it's immensely comforting to have such love and support.
She wrote about two Kitties that are Angels now, Hooter and Fuzzy, the link is HERE.

Ekin asked us to tell you to feel free to leave a comment on the article at Eulogy, and if you have a unique viewpoint or experience to please contact her.

I'm glad I'll be with Mommy Forever.

Someday Mommy will scan some pictures and tell Hooter's and Fuzzy's stories; we are gonna do a few remembrance posts in the New Year.

Pawing it Forward.

Kitties!

We got our Paw it Forward package from Tygana and Pepper, from One Cat's Nip!

It had some PAWESOME toys inside...stuff we've never played with before, like sparkly balls, jingle balls, and furry balls.    We also got some paper crinkly balls that are May Ling's most favoritest toy in the world, she was thrilled!  We had a blast as soon as Mommy opened the box.

There were three in the package, which totally rocked.

KonaKitty guarded hers closely.

Grayce went MAD for the jingle balls.  Mommy put some in the box and Grayce had Ye Grand Olde Tyme fishing them out and batting them everywhere.  In fact, they get put away at night or Mommy wouldn't get any sleep.

Salem loves fuzzy ball...

...a LOT.

This made us crazypants, too!

If you don't see many toys here, it's because we ran 'em all over the house!

You guys are great.

So, now we need to paw it forward, and we got to thinking.

We all know Santa's gonna bring us good stuff, because we're all such Good Cats.  We've got enough toys, really.  And food, and a place to live.

So instead of sending out packages we're gonna have an impromptu commentathon for Chrystal of Daily Dose of Dogs (AKA Cats with Your Coffee) instead, and send them a gift card!

We'll donate fifty cents per comment to Chrystal, to use however she needs for her pets.
