You're Asking For It--Award Edition, Part Elebenty!

Kitties!

The Baby here, sitting in the trash bucket.

We were given the Stylish Blogger Award!!
Thank you very much, Curator of The Pet Museum!
We are thrilled that all y'all think we're the latest word in style.

If you've never been over to look at The Pet Museum, you are in for a treat!  The Museum Curator posts all sorts of neat stuff about animals--in fine art, history, photographs, and literature.  We learn something cool every time we visit.

So I decided that today I would tell you SEVEN things about ME, The Baby.
1.  I joined the Horde because Mommy had bad eyesight!  Daddy heard about me from a man in the waiting room of the eye doctor that Mommy went to for Lasik surgery.

2.  Before I joined the Horde Mommy & Daddy already had two all white Cats...Fuzzy and Chuckles.
Daddy told the man in the waiting room that he "collected" White Cats.

3.  My name is officially "The Baby".
I was supposed to be the last Cat in the crowd, and thus THE Baby.
Also, Mommy and Daddy were majorly lame on boarding the Name Train.

4.  Just like Fuzzy and Chuckles, I am a Bad Cat.
All White Cats are Bad.  It's a rule!
I specialize in escapes.  Once I escaped and didn't come home for two days.  It was not as fun as I expected, I tore up my paw pads and came home very tired, dirty and hungry.
But next time might be funner!

5.  I am incredibly nosy!
Nothing happens around the house that I don't get in to or help with, like the cubby in Daddy's desk which I investigate, every single morning.  One day I'll fit in there, I just know it.

6.  I am not a lap Cat, however I do like to sit next to people and let them massage my scruff.
Anywhere else, and I bite them!
heh heh.

7.  Even though I'm an old gal of 12, I'm incredibly agile.
I can still easily leap five feet to the top of the highboy, which is where I get my serving of crunchy snax.
Gotta go!

We are supposed to pass this award on...but we simply cannot choose!
Grab the award, you are ALL stylish in our books.

Happy Tuesday!

You're Asking For It--Award Edition, Part THRICE!

Kitties!

We feel extra special AWESOME--we were given this award by MORE bloggers!

We are humbled, thank you so much--

So we must tell you seven things about us.  Luckily, Mr. Puddy sent us a list of seven questions!

1.  How do we stay so healthy?
Well, we go to the vet when we need to.  Our Vet doesn't do vaccinations unless requested or if we have to have surgery.  Mommy and Daddy watch us like hawks (aaiieeee!!!) and if we are off our game, off to the Vet we go!  The 'rents have dealt with diabetes, renal failure, bladder stones, broken bones, and plain old age; we trust them to keep us ticking, and help us to journey on when it's our time to go.

Felix:  After my knee surgery.  I tore my patella loose!

2.  How did  a) Sylvester win so many girls and b)  what does he like to do?
Sylvester:
a)  Charisma
b)  I love to play on the ESS, sleep in the sun, chase Felix, eat, and CATNIP!  I also love my Daddy the bestest in the whole wide world.

3.  What are our favorite toys?
Hands down, we like Fevvers-onna-Stick!  We ALL love to play with it!
::swat swat::

4.  Who is the most talkative and who is the quietest?
May Ling:  I LOVE to talk!

CC:  I'm the strong, silent type.

5.  Who is the Naughtiest?
The Baby!!
I'm an escape artist,  I shoot fur everywhere, I get into everything, and I'm the WORST Cat in the world!
heh heh.

6.  Who is the funniest?
Maui:  They don't call me Mister Crazypants for nuffin'!

7.  Who is the most active?
Johnny:  I ALWAYS have to know what's happening...I'm super-duper nosy and I have to check everything out, all the time!

So there you have it, kitties!
We know this award has been going around, in fact we are LATE with posting about it (Mommy, you are in trouble), so please consider yourselves all awesome and take it if you would like!

Happy Tuesday!

You're Asking For It--Award Edition, Part Deux!

Kitties!

Last week we received the Stylish Blogger Award From Maggy and Zoey at ZOOLATRY!

Thank you so much, coming from such talented graphic artists it means a lot to be considered stylish.

We need to tell you seven MORE things about us, and we had a boatload of questions on Sunday concerning Valerian root.  Don't worry, we haven't forgotten your earlier questions...but The Root is so dang good we decided we needed to address it first!

1.  Valerian does have a stinky feets smell, but it's not so repulsive that your Humans are gonna gag or run screaming from the room (darn!) in disgust.  It's easier to clean up than eleventy-seven zillion Nip flakes, too.

2.  Rupert is NOT the only Rootaholic here.  We are all susceptible to it's charms, even those of us who are sorta "meh" about Nip!

3.Mommy ordered our Valerian from Amazon at THIS website; it's sort of pricey but a little goes a long way.  This is the best we've found...yet.

4.  Valerian initially makes us crazypants for just a few minutes, then we get REALLY sleepy and crash out.  In fact, Maui gets a sniff when he's overly wound up to calm him down!

5.  We love BOTH the ESS and the Root!  We can't choose which is our favorite.

6.  Rupert is adamant he does NOT need an intervention!

7.  And one fact about Mommy and HER particular vice:  she prefers cheap wine and expensive gin.  Go figure!

::wink wink::

Now, we know that this award has been making the rounds, so we won't pass it on except to say take it if you would like to!

Happy Tuesday!

You're Asking For It--Award Edition!

Kitties!

We recieved the "Stylish Blogger Award" from THREE different blogs!

We are so honored that you think we are stylish!  Cod knows our Mommy certainly isn't:

Anyway, we are supposed to thank and link with the awarders--sooooooo
Big huge THANK YOUS to:

And we are supposed to tell you seven things about us!
Kitties, we have a few final queries of yours to answer, so here we go.

1.  We didn't get the Catio all at once.  After Sweet Pea appeared in November 2007 Daddy decided to put up the walls, and it's been undergoing a takeover improvements ever since!
The Patio becoming the Catio.

2.  The oldest toy we have is Mommy's (or Daddy's) hand!  The cat tree in the Big Bedroom is our oldest one, it came from Illinois when we moved house ten years ago.  Seriously, we are pretty efficient at destroying our toys.

3.  We deal with young whippersnappers who think they are the center of the Universe by giving them to Maui.  He's a relentless good teacher.

4.  Sylvester has lost weight, he's at a solid 16 pounds.  He does not have a "special relationship" with any toys (such as a stuffed Elephant) or Cat--he leaves THAT to Johnny and Scouty.
Scouty, rejected.

4.  Johnny once bit Mommy's finger and pierced her knuckle with his fang and it swelled up like a sausage!  He still brags feels bad about it.

5.  We can't take in any Kitties who already have Homes, we are full up!  However you are all welcome to come and play anytime you want.
Birdie watching on the Catio.

6. Grayce and May Ling are Daddy's lap girls.  Mommy's lap is for Rupert, Grayce, CC, KonaKitty and Sweet Pea.  The Baby sits next to Mommy, and very occasionally on her lap.  Like once or twice a year.  We have a secret roster for who gets Mommy's lap...she never knows who to expect!

Ohhhhhh, Daddy, I lubs you!

7.  We have a Phantom Pee-er who likes to pee in the bathtub!  Whoever it is has great aim, most of the time it goes RIGHT down the drain.

We are supposed to pass this on to seven bloggers, but we know that this has already made the rounds.
(Mommy is a lazy no-good slacker)
BUT, if you don't have it and would like to...by all means, consider yourself stylish and take it!

Kitties, we are OUT of questions to answer!
Is there anything else you have a burning desire to know?  Leave us a comment, and we'll do another edition of "You're Asking For It" soon.

Happy Tuesday!

xx  The Lounge Kats

Pee Ess:  Thank you, everyone, for the wonderful Birthday wishes!  You made my day special.  xx  trish

You're Asking For It! Number 4

Kitties!

Today we want to tell y'all how we get along here at the Katnip Lounge.
For the most part, we all live in harmony with only a few spats.

Daddy is good at building us stuff so we have lots of places to go, even though we have a small house.  He's a  Cat Whisperer and he's always watching us to make sure we're happy.  His theory is cats are like fish in a tank, we all need our space.

Scouty is pretty timid, of other Cats as well as Humans.  He loves his brother CC and Johnny.  Maui delights in chasing him and making him squeal, but Maui is actually a pretty gentle player except when he tussles with John.  Those two really RASSEL.

Of the ManCats, Johnny is the Cat Cop, he shows up at altercations to mediate between arguing parties.  He's Top Cat.
And, he humps Scouty!
The Baby is Queen Bee of the GirlCats.  She's a histrionic kitty, she whines and spits and hisses at everybody.  We all stay out of her way.  Oh, and Grayce has a lethal rapid-fire swat move that's smart to avoid.  Plus she BITES.
Sylvester is the CreepyCat!  He hardly ever blinks, and he STARES so long we get a little weirded out.

Food is the great equalizer.
We hear the snax container and even Rupert and Maui will eat side by side.  Rupert is convinced Maui wants to eat him, and Maui plays along.  He's nice that way.

We all love the sun.
The top shelf is exclusively Felix's.

Laps are good.
These three pile up together at night to cuddle with Mommy on her left side.

We like Mommy the best for piling on.  Daddy is a one at a time kind of lap guy; Grayce and May Ling sit on him every day.  These three do not sleep with Mommy.

We all love catnip, and we are on our best behavior in the Big Bedroom--Mommy has deadly aim with a magazine!  Only good manners are allowed.

Bird-watching prevents arguments...

...and we all like to help!
Really, we DO like to help.  Mommy and Daddy talk to us, chide us, and pay lots of attention to us when we do projects together.  We LOVE attention and we demand it!

Lizard-watching gets us close.
Nothing like the smell of fresh blood to enhance a bonding opportunity.

The magic quilt is, well, MAGIC!  As you can see.

Sweet Pea is a big Washer-Kitty.
She and May Ling do not get along, but she loves to cuddle with Rupert.

Our favorite spot to cuddle is the Big Bed.

Especially if Mommy is in it!
Mommy says 13 Cats is her limit...but she said the same thing at 9, and 10...
Seriously, we are at capacity.  Any more kitties, and the occasional peeing and spraying would get out of hand.  We're all very lucky that we get along as well as we do, and that Daddy is home during the day to supervise keep us company.  Mommy takes over in the evenings, and then we get brushins, rubbins, luvvins, and playtime with her!

Life is Good.

Next week:  Miscellaneous Questions!

Happy Tuesday!

You're Asking For It! Number 3

Kitties!

Uh...just a minute...
Whew.

OK!  CC here.
Last week we talked about food, and this week we're gonna tell you about "leftovers"!

We have lots of places to "go" here at the Lounge.
Out on the Catio we have two wading pools...

Ah, fresh sand.

...and another one inside in the yellow bedroom.
This area has a line in the morning!  We like this pool the best and we fill it up every day.

We have a box in the Little Out, too.  This one gets used the least, mostly it's The Baby's latrine.

We use Fresh Step clumping litter.  Mommy has tried more "green" litters but we didn't like them.  And you know what THAT means!
Here are the scooping tools:  a garden rake and a steel scooper.
Daddy is our main scooper, and he believes in sturdy tools.

We have two air filters in the house for dust, an Ionic Breeze in the Yellow room and a HEPA filter in the great room.  They work great!  Our poops are fairly non-stinky cuz we don't have grains in our wet food, and  whenever People come over they are amazed that the house does NOT smell like "Cat".  (Like that's a BAD thing?)
Kudos to Daddy and his superior housekeeping!
He vacuums and mops every day.
*
*
*
*
Now, this next bit deals with actual "product".
We hope that's all right.
A Monolith!

A Squiggle!

Mystery Whizz.

The Largest Pee of All Time.

Lastly, sometime we have disputes, and we think outside of the box.
But not too often.

Gotta go!

Next week, we'll answer your questions about how we all get along!

Happy Tuesday!

Luv, CC and the Lounge Kats
