Grayce here, and I'm a little worried right now...
...and not because Sylvester is hogging the cube.
Sylvester: I'm not a HOG! I'm a Cat. Doofus.
Here's what I'm worried about:
In March of 2010 I had a problem with my bladder; I had to pee all the time and I felt pretty crummy. After a couple of trips to the vet it turned out I had bladder stones, TWO of 'em! Mommy & Daddy decided that the stones had to go, so I had surgery and I'm fit as a fiddle now.
Last week I found out that another kitty has the same problem that I had; it's Annie, from Lucy's Lounge. Annie is new to her home, her Mommy saved her from going to the shelter by adopting her, which is FABULOUS! But the day after she moved in she started peeing blood, and after a couple of vet trips for her, it turns out Annie has bladder stones too!
This is where the trouble is. My surgery was almost $800, and Annie's vet quoted a price over TWICE that amount! Her mom is very worried about this, and is trying to find a more reasonably priced vet. Also, my surgery was laproscopic, and I was home the same day--Annie's vet says a three day hospitalization, which is no fun, for us kitties OR Moms & Dads.
And this is where YOU can help!
Annie lives (in her new home) in Orange County, California. Is there anybody in the area that can recommend a good vet for a second opinion and/or surgery? Her mom says she'd be willing to travel a little bit if needed; in fact she half-joked about coming to Las Vegas on the phone with our Mommy, it would be so much less expensive. (Not that we'd mind meeting another Cat Blogger!)
Kitties, I KNOW we can help Annie!
Let's get our purrers going and our networking skills revved up and help Annie out.
Or I'll bite you.
ha ha ha!
Thanks so much, Kitties.
