PEE ESS:  Thank you all for the well wishes for Miss Salem's behind, as of Wednesday evening it was (according to Mommy, the Bumspector) looking much less swollen.   Her appetite is good, and only 12 more pills to go!

I'm contemplating my outdoor kingdom on a lovely rainy day.

Mind you, my life wasn't always so nice.  Although I prefer to keep my past shrouded in mystery, I will admit that it took a couple of tries to obtain the correct people to dominate love, and when I finally did land the perfect set of servunts it took me over a year to open up get them trained to my specs.

It was so totally worth it though...

...because I am so very very happy.

Life is Good.

When I came to live at The Lounge, I had been declawed on my front feets.

Thankfully all my furblings are nice and I don't need them for defense...

...and there are these most excellent carpeted ridges for me to stretch out what is left of my toes; because declawing IS amputation and my toes ARE stumps.

I know I'm a lucky boy to end up in such a great situation.

Can you believe this is the THIRD place I've lived??

The Bone Thief

All was not wine and roses toys and beddies in the parcel from Finland.

There was this horribly nefarious item as well--a Kitchen Towel.

As you can see, our nekkid pal Seppo put up a valiant battle to prevent it from being sent across the ocean to PURRsecute us!

Mommy thought the best way to show off the instrument of torture would be to drape it on us like a little saddle.

You can imagine *just* how well this hair-brained idea worked out:

and poor John almost lost the will to live.

At least MOMMY had fun.

Mommy got a surprise in the mail...two books about FINLAND, of all places.

There was no note or card in the package, so she's totally stumped!

What we're wondering is why on Earth she got these books in the first place.  She's not leaving us, is she?  Wait a minute...didn't we see a new suitcase in the closet?

This could be bad, kitties...

To my Mystery Book Benefactor:  Thank you so much for the gift!  Much appreciated and both Scott and I are enjoying them--we read snippets back and forth all last night.  I appreciate your thoughtfulness, whoever you are!

A while back* our Canadian friend Knatolee (who also has 13 cats, check out her blog!) sent us these Most Excellent collapsible grocery boxes.

Mommy saw them on Knatolee's blog and knew she needed some for shopping because she detests those flimsy plastic bags, and the canvas ones are saggy and hard to pack.  So, she scoured the interwebs--to no avail.

Knatolee sent us FOUR boxes and they are wonderful...and not just for groceries.

Our Delicious Dinner

Kitties!

Here is what we're getting for our Thanksgiving dinner:

NOT!!!

Instead, Daddy will grill us a chicken, and Mommy made bread stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, pretzel rolls, buttered carrots, cole slaw, fresh cranberries, and a from-scratch cherry pie!  Mommy works half a grave shift Wednesday night (four hours) so she did all the prep ahead of time--which means we've already had many many many opportunities for taste tests and impromptu quality control.  One of the rolls *may* have gotten a paw print pressed into it...

She was in bed reading her tablet and took a photo of us together.  Truthfully, I usually don't lay on the actual bed--I lay on Mommy's shoulder and arm, semi-paralysing her causing her to make all kids of rude remarks about how her back hurts, I'm too heavy, my anus is in her face, & etc etc etc.

To which I say:  Balderdash!  You love it Mommy, and you know it.

I'm sure she's very thankful I snuggle up with her every night and hog the bed.

Right, Mommy?

Yes, Roop-a-poop, I am.

"Here" being behind the tomato plants, that is.

I have wonderful news: 

Mommy spoke with the Vet today, and Dr. Augustine doesn't want to see me until the end of July!  I am feeling so much better.  I'm back to playing and acting crazypants and being naughty and getting into everything and being bossy and running around like my tail's on fire, just like before I felt so ill.  Depending on how my blood work goes I may have to have another round of medicines--it seems that my gall bladder isn't working 100% any more--but the vet thinks my condition is manageable without surgery.  Paws crossed things stay that way...

And thanks to you, my pals (from all over the world!) the Extra Large vet bill and medications have been almost completely paid for!  As in, Mommy and Daddy only had to pay a little bit, and my total bill was almost fourteen hundred dollars...your generosity was (is) amazing.

A big shout out to Marg from Marg's Animals for being the World's Best Internet Auctioneer, and also to Ann from Zoolatry for designing the auction page header and badges.  

You ladies ROCK...

So I owe all of you the biggest THANK YOU, ever!

Your love, purrs, prayers, and donations warmed my grizzled flinty heart right down to the core.  

(and made Mommy cry a lil' bit)

It bears repeating that my/our Readers are just the absolute best group of folks in the world.

No...it's not swimming season, these are Brand Spanking New LITTERPOOLS for our Catio latrines!

Daddy got 'em at the home supply store.  Mommy ordered bags and BAGS of litter from Mr. Chewy, and as soon as they come it's BOMBS AWAY in these babies!

*ahem*

We mean we will discretely make use of the new facilities with the utmost decorum.  Furthermore, we will cover.  Every time.

Bwa ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

That's a joke.  In actuality we'll diggitydigdigdig to China, flinging fresh litter (and turds--ed) everywhere, forcing Mommy to sweepittysweepsweepsweep the Catio or risk sandy feets (or worse--ed) when she ventures outside.

Kitties, we can hardly wait!

I'm verreh thankful for many things today!

Firstly, I love the new (to us) sofa Mommy bought.  She and Daddy sit on it all the time, which means lots and lots of petting for me, because I hang out here every evening.  Daddy sometimes even sleeps on it when his back bothers him, and I get to snuggle under the blanket with him!  That never happened with the old sofa.

Secondly, I'm thankful that Pricilla and Abbygoat's Publicist sent Mommy a huge box of books--because you know what that means--extended Lap Availability!  After this weekend Mommy has ten day's vacation so you can bet your spare fur suit you know where I'll be, curled up and thrumming, (hopefully) on Mommy's full bladder.  She can hardly wait...to read all these good books, that is.

Thirdly, I'm thankful for Mommy's cell phone.  The flash isn't very bright and the blurred effect takes years off my fur!  

Life is Good for this old gal.

Guess what is on the paper towel by my white-tipped toes?

That's right--it's a cruller donut!

Really, it was Mommy who gave Daddy (and me, by default) the donut.  One of the guys at work brought a box of them in, and Mommy got off her dietary high horse caved and ate one.

(hey, it had cinnamon crumbs on it, it was practically health food!--ed)

Afterwards, she decided felt so guilty about eating it the only thing that would expiate her gluttonous sin was to have Daddy eat one too.  Her logic may be skewed, but if it means tasty snax me (and Daddy) aren't arguing.

I had never eaten a donut before, so I started out with a tentative lick, and OH. MY. COD. was it ever good.

Kitties, I'm here to tell you that I went to town on that wondrous piece of pastry; in fact I enjoyed it so much that I got crumbs stuck on my snootstrils!

But don't worry--they didn't go to waste, heh heh.

Thanks for the donut Mommy, and if you have any residual problems with your food morals, well, all is forgiven.
