!!!!WARNING!!!!
The following post contains graphic mousie-munching photos!!!
Young kittens and squeamish peeps: proceed at your own risk.
Kitties!
Maui here.
Friday night I shot into the living room with most of my furblings in hot pursuit; I had snagged a mousie out on the Catio and everybody wanted in on it and there really wasn't enough to share. You know how it is. Of course Mommy saw what was going on (perceptive for once) and sprang into action--she shooed the Slavering Horde away from me (I was growling like a semi-truck going uphill) and grabbed the camera to document the event. I tell you what, Mommy has her priorities straight.
I took my prize into Daddy's office where he could lay in state.
I prodded him a few times...
...and rearranged him.
After a few Fang Shui adjustments, he was Just Right.
For eating.
::crunchity crunch crunch crunch::
mmmmmmmmm...brains!
Mommy says I'd make a good zombie...I can't imagine why.
At this point Mommy removed the lower portion what was left of my prize and put it in the freezer* for me, for later!
I sure hope I get to finish it soon...
Happy Monday!!
XX Maui XX
*Freezer = Morgue. Where carcasses go until trash day...sometimes startling Daddy if he doesn't know one is in there. Pretty funny, actually. He squeals.
OMC!!!!! Maui! Bro, that was awesome!
ReplyDelete~Chester
Result! That was triumphant. And of course the hunter has to eat it.
ReplyDeleteThis morning Äiti found an internal organ form some unknown creature on the living room floor. No fur, feathers or skin - just a red blob of something! And we are all silent on the matter.
Well, *I* am suitably impressed. The Human scrolled thru really really fast cause she is kinda squeamish but I really wanted to see more. You da Man, Maui!
ReplyDeleteThat mouse is barely a mouthful! Your human should have let you finish it!
ReplyDeleteYou are like Harry then - you eat the brains. Go Maui
ReplyDeleteOMC, any mousie that ventures into your place MUST be a Darwin Award contestant!
ReplyDelete::THUD:: Our Mommy has fainted. We think it looks delish, though!
ReplyDeleteI'm a master at reading while averting my eyes from the gruesome parts... I did notice that it's a tiny mouse, how come there was some left for later? (or for frightening daddy, which I think is an awesome use of half a mouse!)
ReplyDeleteHmmm!! What a tasty way to start the day, magnificent Maui!! Take care
ReplyDeletex
droooool. DANG! now I'm all hungryfied!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Maui! All new episode on CATTV's new hit show 'What's for dinner?"
*scampers off to lurk around the garage*

Ms. Stella O'Houligan
Well done Maui!!!Hope you get to finish it soon. Skipper :)
ReplyDeleteAround here Tillie and Julie are the good mousers. Mom always takes them away though. Sheesh!!

What a mighty hunter you are, Maui!
ReplyDeleteOh Maui! You are such a mighty hunter! I wish we could go on an expedition together (blush...).
ReplyDeletePurrrrrrrrrs,
Sei-Chan
Blech! I hope the mom doesn't kiss you on the lips because that would be icky mouse-breath.
ReplyDeleteThat's good that you are a mouser--although the eating part is gross. Hobbes likes to hunt mousies, but he never eats them.
congratulations on a great Catch Maoi, we have no mice left and are condemned to munch dried horsemeat, or whatever is in those Brown dry things "slave" gives us to eat. Regards from Three hungry indoorcats in Sweden, Iona, Iiiza and Littleman
ReplyDeleteewwww.
ReplyDeleteDROOOOOOOOOOOOL!
ReplyDeleteThe REAL Maple Syrup Mob xxxxx
Maui you are a great and mighty hunter but why did your Mom have to interfere before you had finished your snack.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
YAOWZA! Good catch! How sweet of your mom to freeze some for later.
ReplyDeleteWow, Maui! It doesn't seem he made much of a toy first, though...
ReplyDeleteMAUI THE GREAT FURRY HUNTER!!
ReplyDeleteMOL MOL
HUGS MADI YOUR BFFF
Your mommy made sure you could eat your prize catch in peace! That is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I'm up to carcasses in the morgue, though...
Maui Mommy rules to let you have your mousie in peace! Yumm!
ReplyDeleteThe twelve of us have pretty much moused out our property and on the rare occasion when we do get one, ol' peepers here does everything within her power to save its life and release it in a place of safety. MOUSES!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Nissy
Oh my, now that is a serious treat!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, Maui might land on our detention list. Who else should we consider from your crew?
ReplyDeleteMmmm mousie munchies are the best!
ReplyDeleteThe Paw Relations
Poor little mousie. But then again, you can't have those things scampering all over the Catio willy-nilly! Good job, Maui! Purrs...
ReplyDeleteour mom says she only hears of these things - we don't even see any mousie here that isn't filled with catnip - but am very glad to see that this really happens.
ReplyDeleteemma and buster
maui...forget de freezer...ask yur mom ta get out a non stik pan N seer that mouze over de cooker....medium high heet for 13 mints, toss sum cheez on him and a wee bit a steak sauz N ewe haza reddy made burger !!
ReplyDeleteOH you da MAN Maui! WHOA NELLIE! WOWSERS! I catch them too but if mommy sees my haul, I don't get to eat.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think the mousies would know by now to not come to your house but since it did, it got what it deserved! We'd like to see a video of your daddy finding carcasses in the freezer! MOL!
ReplyDeleteMaui the great mouser!
ReplyDelete*whispers*
ReplyDeleteMaui, just so you know, she isn't going to let you have the other half again. if you want to eat the whole thing you need to do it before the momma takes it away..
*/whisper*
Great way to supplement your diet and keep them critters out of the house. I'm a little surprised with all that feline-ness going on at your house a mouse would come with in a mile of it! :)
got to say I agrees wif TfFK, above - that mousie must have some kind of bad luck to walk into THAT particular Catio. Wrong place, wrong time, Little Guy.
ReplyDeleteBut, also, Maui...I fink I lubs you, you big Growly Semi-Truck Mighty Hunter, you. just fyi.
All right Maui, you got your raw food for the day good job. I want a picture of Scott's face when he finds the tail in the freezer. Eww. Too funny. We all love to leave the parts around when we eat part of those mice. Take care.
ReplyDeleteMighty Monday mousie munchie Maui!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, Maui! We guess the other kitties are gonna hafta catch their own mousies for munching!
ReplyDeleteThat mousie looked very tasty Maui. Why didn't your mum let you finish it, then she wouldn't have to put it in the freezer and startle your dad.
ReplyDeleteOMC Maui, we's never seen a real live dead mouse before! You is the most pawsome hunter.
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting the rest of the mousie from your mom, MOL
Sasha, Sami, & Saku
Outstanding werk Maui! We of course, heartily (and brainily) approve of catching and eating mousies. We are fortunate that TBT likes ta see us catching them as much as we enjoy that ourselfs.
ReplyDeleteYou eyes are positively wild in those pictures Maui! Good work!
ReplyDeleteMaui, you are one lucky kitty. Our humans won't let us eat any part of any mouses we catch. We don't know why. Isn't that what kitties are supposed to do? Stoopid humans! Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Misty May, Mauricio, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteEeeewwwww! I don't think that mouse was washed first, Maui. Do you have any idea where it's been. I don't so. Next time, have Mommy or Daddy wash it thoroughly with hot soapy water and rinse well. Then, you can eat it's little brains out.
ReplyDeleteWe think she was saving it for herself! Good luck seeing that mousie again.
ReplyDeleteEeeeeeewwwww! Well...you did warn me.... LOL!
ReplyDeletexo Catherine
Sweet Maui that was some good hunting and catching and we can see you enjoyed your catch. Hugs and nose kisses
ReplyDeleteMaui, you are a super mouser.. I only play with them if I'm lucky enough to catch one.. xxooxx
ReplyDeleteMollie and Alfie
The Staff came out one day and caught me just ripping the fur off something! She couldn't catch me in time to save any of it. I told her to catch her own lunch!! Sheesh!! Nice work, Maui! :)
ReplyDeleteOk, we'd pay money to see and hear the squeal.
ReplyDeleteSo, get that video cam out.
We're waiting.
; )
MAUI!!! Score baby score!!!
ReplyDeleteOMC !
ReplyDeleteYour humans actually let you keep your mousies ?!
Sigh. Cats! I found the back end of a mouse in front of my washing machine the other day. Beats that back half of a chipmunk I found on our bed.
