Paper Extravaganza

Kitties!

We had four boxes delivered today (cat litter!) which had lots and lots (and LOTS) of packing paper in them.  Daddy spread them out in the living room, over the coffee table and our ESSes and tunnel and toys--a cornucopia of entertainment--just for us.

We were on the scene immediately to investigate.

Um.  

Daddy made some minor adjustments to his creation for an enhanced fun experience.

Sorry you had to see that...

After he cleared the area we dove in!

And there was much rejoicing and rustling of paper throughout the Lounge.

Marauding Mancat Monday

If there's one thing all of us cats here at the Lounge enjoy (even Scouty!) it's playing with string.  This can be risky--swallowed string can turn into a very Bad Business, as some of our pals have learned first-hand.  So we compromise with a short string on a wand, and always supervised play. (Mommy ties a few knots in the end for Sylvester.  His claws are gone so this way he can grip the string almost naturally.)

The string toy lives in a drawer when we're done playing, and Mommy hopes--if she ever would forget and leave it out by accident--that the shorter length would translate into less string ingested.  Not that she ever wants to test the theory...and she uses natural hemp string so if we do eat any little frays while playing that they're non-toxic.

Anyway.  I love the string toy; here's a little movie of me killing it mercilessly.  Sorry it's so badly lit, Mommy shot it late at night and she's a lazy tight-wadded wench who won't put on the lights so it's kinda glarey.

As I was saying, we have a lady cat cousin who lives in Whiskersconsin; Luci-fur.  Luci owns Mommy's Aunt and Uncle and reads our blog daily...and she noticed that we did not possess one of these ultra-cool bottle brush cheek and whisker-scratcher doodads. 

So she sent us one...and we LOVE it!

Mommy has been snapping photos of us all week.

Not all of them flattering.

Thank you so much Luci-fur, we're really enjoy our new ultra-cool bottle brush cheek and whisker-scratcher doodad.

(and Mommy looks spiffy in her Cat Yoga T-shirt, too)

De CAT pitating

We won a contest over at 15 and Meowing, and for our prize they sent us some FABULOUS hand-crocheted and -sewn toys!

We got a lovely card, two felt mice, a blue ball, an aqua wine cork, a goldfish, and an ice cream cone.  

So here's the thing: 

When Salem discovered the ice cream cone she LOST HER HEAD!

At least temporarily.

She stalked and played with the cone mercilessly...

...until she fell over!

Who would you say won the round, the cone or the cat? 

Thank you so much Elin and furamily, from our Horde to yours!  Sylvester has claimed the goldfish as "his", and the rest of the toys are already scattered far and wide around the house.

We like visiting 15 and Meowing, because they have many many many kitties, just like us...stop over some time and say hello!

It's cloudy today, and I'm bored...there's no sunpuddles in which to snooze.  For a restorative cat nap--you know, a quick eight or nine hours.

Mancat Gone Wild

I tell you what, that Spitty the Kitty sent my sisser The Baby some sah-weet toys* for Valentine's Day.  There was something for everykitty in the package.

The kickeroo is my purrsonal favorite; I beat the tar outta it manymanymany times every day!  Thank Cod it's a sturdy toy, able to withstand repeated disembowelings.

There's just something so special about it...the length, the girth, the squishiness, I can't put my paw on exactly what the attraction is but this thing is the Cat's Pajamas for killing and biting and tossing around...you get the idea.

hmmmm.  

Speaking of paws, this one needs some attention.

Back to the subject of Toy Fun Value investigation!

Oh, my claws and whiskers!  

It's an Interactive Feather Wand toy from The Natural Pet Company!

And it came with THREE different "birdies", one of which has a tinkley bell on it that drives me crazypants.  OK, I admit it, all the birdies are insanely fun.

Kitties, this toy is THE BOMB.

I leap and jump and pirouette and levitate like I have pogo sticks for legs!

(Pay no attention to my Dad's legs; they are decidedly not pogo stick-ish)

This is the first toy I've ever played with until I flop over panting, and I know where it lives in the closet--so I request to play with it many many many times an hour daily.  It's a good thing my servunts are retired!

Thank you Katnip Kitties, and Screechy Lady...I LOVE my Interactive Feather Wand toy from The Natural Pet Company, and I give it four liquorice paws up!
