Wordy Wednesday by a SLP

Kitties!!

Miss Danielle here. Mommy (and everyone else) thinks I can't talk yet...

But the Kitties here know what I'm saying!

These Lounge Kats are pretty nice kitties. I've met a few kitties before so I know what I'm talking about.

Grandma had a special headband for me so I'd fit right in...

...and I went exploring right away to check out the local hangouts.

I met this nice guy, Maui, on the Big Bed. We hung out for a while.

Johnny was on the Cat Tree. He hissed at Me! Johnny is a big Scairty Cat.

Grandpa helped Me give the Cats temptations!

I have to admit, I can see why the Cats like them...I ate one and it was VERY TASTY.

Notice something the same about Me & grandpa? We are both tie-dye hippy-dippy dudes. Whatever they are.

Now here is a really excellent Cat--Salem.

Salem was the first Cat I petted at the Lounge. Actually, I admit I did a little more than pet her...I sorta latched onto the end of her tail!

I did not know that Cats can move REALLY FAST. Salem took off with Me in tow and I nearly got whiplash until I remembered to let go of her tail!

Both Me & Salem think it was pretty unkind how the incredibly Old Beans laughed at us...comparing us to waterskiers and jet boats.

But we got to be good buddies after that.

I learned to use the Cat Flap...

over and over and over and over and over and over...

you get the idea.

So Kitties, I'm here to tell you that all Sticky Little People aren't all bad. At least I'M not! I had a great time visiting the Katnip Lounge Kats (the ones I saw; Grandma claims there's more) and they even taught me a new word. I learned to say "Kee-ey"! Which of course means "Kitty".

I hope I get to visit again!

Madhouse Monday with a Sticky Little Person (SLP)

Kitties!
It's been a madhouse around here the past week. All our routines have been upset and all the hard work we put into training Mommy & Daddy *just so* has gone down the drain. If you heard any giant sucking noises, well, that was it.
The reason is this:

Daddy's BeanSon Aaron, his wife Katelyn, and SLP Danielle on Danielle's First Birthday this past April.
Our house is kinda small, so they stayed at a hotel nearby. (Phew! We can eat and use the litterbox...)
This is the view from the room:
The window view from room 7113 at Leow's Resort, Lake Las Vegas.
There are two nice pools at the Hotel, one just for kids!
We think getting into water is insane but People seen to like it, which proves that Humans are crazy. We think they traded having a Thumb for Common Sense somewhere in the mists of time.
The Big Bean pool.

The Lobby looks like fun though, think of the games of THOE you could play here!
*

*
Danille is Very Brave and played in the pool a lot.

She even swam ALL BY HERSELF for the VERY FIRST TIME!
Swimming solo at 14 months!

Grandpa is having a blast!
Danielle LOVES him.

Of course, Our House has been invaded, repeatedly. Katelyn's Cat Allergies haven't gotten to her too much; Daddy has been cooking yummy dinners (chix-hen & steak for us!!) so the family has been converging at suppertime and hanging out for a few hours.
Danielle meets Chester for the first time. This is as close as she'd get...
Note Grayce hiding under the desk!

Danielle meets Chester the next day! What a smart cookie.

Most of us have been spending their visits in Deep Hiding in the bedrooms...leaving our Cat Beds unoccupied--at least by Cats!
MMMmmmmmm, cozy.
Some of us HAVE come out and met everybody...but that's a story for another day!
Happy Monday Kitties, we hope you've enjoyed our family pictures.

Some Saturday Awards!

Kitties!
We got some MORE awards!
Hurrah!
We got the "Happy Cat" award from both Sherkhan and Spitty-the-Kitty!
Thanks, GentleMenCats, we really like this colorful award...and here on the Catio we try to have some fun every day.
Sherkhan's Mommy creates a new Award on the 21st of each month, just because! How cool is that!?!

We would like to pass this award on to six other Kitties:
Nicky, Derry & Annie from Fuzzy Tales. We admire Annie's Crabilation, Nicky's Escapism, and Derry's Laid Back Cattitude.
Fin from Housecat Confidential. Fin is a fellow Las Vegan and she also WROTE A BOOK! What a GrannyCat! You go, girl!
Daisy & Harley. Need we say more?

Next, The Creek Cats Gave us the "Life is Good" Award!
Thank You, Creek Cats! Keep up the great work with Gretchen and the TNR. You are a blessing to felinekind.
Kitties, Life IS Good, even when it's not. At least we aren't on the street, foraging for a meal to feed endless litters of kittens.
Mommy answered the questions earlier, you can see what she answered here.

The Family visit continues, and Salem has decided she LIKES Danielle, the Sticky Little Person of Tail-Tugging fame...details (no pun intended) later!
Have a Great Weekend, Kitties!
Headbump your Human, they really like it. And then you might get extra Treats.

Friday Update on the Fly!

Kitties!

MomKat Trish here...

It's been a busy week so far.

The kids and grandkid are here. My (our) Granddaughter Danielle is an absolute cutie pie!

The Kats are starting to come out and visit...Salem got her tail pulled (I'll let her tell that story). Sweet Pea and The Baby have been patted nicely, Johnny flailed at being held, and the rest of the Crew is in Deep Hiding, or attempting Escape.

Grandpa has been spotted marching and dancing with Danielle to the "A-B-C" song!

Katelyn's allergies are not too bad; she can spend 3 hours or so at the house before she gets a bozo nose.

Pictures and possibly video to come...The Kats demanded to check in and say "Meow" to all their pals. They miss all ya'll!

Come get us when they're gone, Mommy!
Regular Posting to resume early next week!

Tuesday in the "Little Out"

Kitties!
We have something different to show you today.
When Mommy & Daddy first moved into their "new" house in Las Vegas there was a doggie door on the West side of the house, and Daddy rigged up a wire enclosure so we could go outside for some fresh air and do our business in the litterboxes. It was only four feet tall, which was plenty high for us but pretty hard for Mommy to move around in and scoop.
On the Southwest side of the Great Room there's a "divot" on the room where the corner of the house comes in but it's under roof outside.
It was perfect for a Cat enclosure for us. So some strangers came and installed screening and a People door in the divot space.
Here's Felix relaxing out there:

To the left of the photo (where you can't see) there's a door to the outside. That's Mommy's treadmill handle you see...and you might notice we don't have a ginormous kiddy wading pool for a litterbox. That's because there were only six of us at the time.

This is what the area looked like right after it was screened in:

Pretty rough. But Daddy knew he would fix it up nice for us. The first thing he did was install a Cat flap for us so we could go in and out, in and out, in and out.

After the first winter went by Mommy & Daddy decided that they needed a windbreak for the Cat flap...

And that's the chest thingy on the right.
It has a lift up lid on the left hand side so Mommy can get in it to vacuum up our furs.

Here's our Cat flap...

And the inside of the chest, as seen from the flap. There's a second Cat flap (on the left) leading to the enclosure, and the chest blocks the hot and cold Las Vegas winds.
After the big Catio was built, Mommy & Daddy started calling the enclosure the "Little Out". It's still very popular, especially on winter afternoons, where it's protected from the wind and sunny.
The chest had been christened the "Lobby". As you can see, the Lobby is a very popular hangout. Scouty in particular likes to sleep in the Lobby, and when Mommy opens up the Cat flap and startles him he hisses. So the Lobby is also known as the "Hissy Hut".
And there you have it!
Our other outdoor hangout.
So if you come over and don't see us on the Catio, don't panic! Check the Little Out and the Hissy Hut...we might be there, instead.
Happy Tuesday, Kitties!

ManCat Monday, Miffed Off Edition

Kitties!
We are Miffed Off ManCats!
First, Mommy tells us that there are going to be STRANGERS at our house.
Next, Mommy say one of the strangers is a Sticky Little Person!
Finally, Mommy announces that we can post, but we won't be able to visit a lot or comment this week.
You can see how we took the news...

The Strangers are Mommy's Stepson Aaron, his wife Katelyn, and Mommy & Daddy's Granddaughter, Danielle, who is 14 months old. We have never met a Sticky Little Person before. As you can see, Maui is rather concerned.

Mommy has never met Katelyn or Danielle! Daddy's traveled to North Carolina where they live for a visit, but Mommy was unable to go. Mosta us kitties have met Aaron before, and Johnny is pretty cool with seeing him again.

They are going to stay in a Hotel nearby. Katelyn is allergic to Cats! Rupert isn't too concerned about making her sneeze.

Felix loves company, and is resting up to do his skyway racing act.

CC, true to form, doesn't have a clue that anything is going on.

So Kitties, if you don't get comments from us this week it's because Mommy is going to enjoy herself with her family and not perform her secretarial duties. We'll try to keep up with what's going on in the CB, but if anything REALLY exciting happens try to not post about it until next week!
heh heh.

Shameless Saturday Secrets...Rupert reveals All!

Kitties!

Rupert here.

I'm here to reveal the answers to the Crime-Wave Quiz.

Oh, and maybe my tummy, too.

I'm relaxing in the heated box in the Yellow Bedroom.

Why don't you come a little closer...

There. Now you can rub my tum-tum and I will tell all!

The Shameless Chicken Jerky Eater is Scouty!

The Paper Towel Assailant is Salem,

The Slave Driver is Daddy Kat,

AND

drum roll please...

The Indiscriminate Sprayer is Maui!

Many of you guessed correctly.
Some of you suspected Daddy Kat of being the sprayer. Mommy says "Thank You" for the mental image of Daddy peeing in all the corners, marking his territory.

We hope you all had fun with our quiz...

Have a Wonderful Saturday, Kitties!
