What Mommy is Missing

Kitties!

Sweet Pea here...

and I say Pfffffft to Mommy two-timing us with our tarty Arizona cousin, Shadow!

THIS is what she's missing at home:

or click HERE

How could she leave, ever?

Thank Cod, Mommy will be returning to serve us home Monday evening.  Daddy is great (especially for extra snax!) but it's always nice to have the NORMAL amount of servitude and adoration.

Happy Monday!

Terse Tuesday Toes

Kitties!

What is the deal with Mondays, and why are they so busy?
For Mommy, we mean.
We couldn't care less what day of the week it is.

Normally, Mommy is a multi-tasking fiend at work on Mondays and she manages (with our expert consult) to read and comment on most all your blogs, but not yesterday!  She claims it was extra extra hectic at work; fifty-odd phone calls before nine o'clock, fire-systems testing, chemical deliveries, blah blah blah.  Sounds like a stroll on the Catio to us!  Apparently (as we are all too painfully aware of) Mommy is lazy as sin--even on the job.

And it didn't get any better when she got home, we're sorry to report.  She was full of totally unimportant non-cat-related projects; although the Frying of the Bacon* was greatly appreciated.

What this means for you, kitties, is that all we have for you today are some toesies and a tiny mystery:
Just who do these tootsies belong to?

Happy Tuesday!

Bon Voyage, Hugo!

Kitties!

Hugo here.

Today's the day I take off in my Flying Purple Hippomobile to go to my next destination:

The Florida FurKids Of Friends Forever!

But first I wanted to say goodbye to my pals at the Katnip Lounge.
Scouty, I hope you didn't mind me suprising you, I had a good time discussing your Stew Pot Conspiracy Theories.  Very Intriguing!

CC, I had a ton of fun romping with you on the Big Cat Tree.
Who knew leaping from level to level was so much fun...and so easy?

Johnny, you don't need to say "pbthbbbbbt"...I'm only gonna be an e-mail away, anytime, anywhere.
I'll miss you too!

Sylvester!  Oops...did I come at a bad time?
Dude, you are one Cool Kat, I'm so happy you came to live here so I got to meet you.

Felix, you big old softie!
Don't worry, your secret is safe with me.

Miss May Ling, you are a talkative Puss and I thoroughly enjoyed all our long philosophical conversations.

Rupert, you are the bestest cuddle-buddy a Little Purple Hippo could ever have.
Srsly.

The Baby, thanks so much for showing me your yard.  You really have an eye for design and you direct your Daddy so well!

Sweet Pea, you are the softest, prettiest long haired white kitty here at the Lounge.  I'll miss running around like a MadHippo and chasing you under the bed!

Miss Salem, I learned all about skyway traffic control, and perimeter patrols for introoders.  Keep up the good work!

Grayce, your evil snax-procuring plans are diabolical!
And effective.

KonaKitty, I'm so glad you are feeling spunky and the vet says you are good to go for a long while yet.

Maui, you ARE the King of Krazypants!
Your sideways crabwalk is phenomenally entertaining.

And to the Lounge Mommy & Daddy, thanks for hosting me and showing this Little Purple Hippo such a fun time in Las Vegas!

Hugo, it was our pleasure.  Come back and see us anytime.
We love you!

Happy Monday, Everybody!

Modeling Monday Expose'

 Kitties!

MomKat Trish here.
I have something terrible to tell your Moms and Dads.
Maybe you should go sit down and have a Niptini, you're gonna need it.

Because I'm on to ALL of you!

Last week Mr. Crazypants and I bought a new car and the Cats chipped in on the down payment.  I was quite proud of them saving up their allowance money, but then I discovered this:

A giant chest of money, stashed in the closet!
Over by the vacuum, where the Horde thought I'd never look.

And by the money was this catalog:
Um, Johnson, why is your kitten picture on the cover?

I know NOTHING!

Moms & Dads, do you occasionally lose track of a Cat and assume they're just sleeping somewhere?

WRONG!
They're out Cat Modeling, earning thosands of dollars.

Of which you see NONE.  Zero.  Zilch.
I plead the Fifth.

The limosine pulling up to the house is a good Clue that your Cat might be sneaking Out.
They use tiny cell phones they can dial with one toe, a la "Zoolander".

Is your Kitty a picky eater, or a habitual barfer?
Eating disorders are RAMPANT amongst Models!
This can be another Clue.

Aliases are common.

 Have you seen this Cat?

Cats often use just one Name, like Fluffy or Tom, to escape detection by their Humans.
And the trickery doesn't stop there!

They put on fur make-up, too.
 And wear tiny contact lenses.

The worst of it is the secret Swiss bank accounts.
Which does NOT go towards stinky goodness, Cat Trees, toys, Nip, etc.

Or VET bills, either.
What they do with all the money, I haven't a clue.

Probably manipulate world money markets as part of their Evil Plan for World Domination.
I'm just happy that the Lounge Kats yakked up some cash for my car.

Thanks, guys.
Mommy loves you.

This has been a Public Service Announcement.
 Thank you for your attention.

Happy Monday!

Lounge Lizards

Kittites!

Mister Lizard (George) barely escaped with his life today, but not for lack of trying on our part!

Here we are, hanging out on the Catio.  There's nine of us here...do you see us all?
Here's the story:

George the Lizard lives in the lantana garden on the corner of the Catio.  He drives us crazypants with his rustling and skittering around!
Salem is reaching...reaching...Rats!
Missed him.

Rupert approached for a closer look and Salem got a little Hissed Off.
Rupert has a tiny problem with "Personal Space".  His preferred method of greeting is to stick his snooter all up into the greetee's business...his nose is COLD!
Felix, oblivious, slumbers.

George makes a break for the other side of the garden!
::rustle rustle rustle::
::chitter chitter chitter::

Hey!  There he goes!  Over towards the wall.
Double Rats!
Someday, George.

You can't escape us forever.
Rupert stalks off.

May Ling settles in for a nap.
ZZzzzzzzzzzzz...

Scouty ponders lizards he's eaten in the past.
Mmmmmm, tastes like chicken!

Felix, oblivious, slumbers on.

And guess what, Kitties?
Later in the day WE GOT GEORGE!

But Salem and Sweet Pea made the fatal error of bringing him in alive, whereupon Mommy rescued him and put him back Outside.
Triple Rats!

Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

Have a great Monday!

We are ALL OVER breaking rules.
Today, the Baby decided to "Run with Scissors".
Check it out!

Monday Mealtime!

Kitties!
Felix here, relaxing under the Stairs to Nowhere.
I think I hear Mommy opening cans of stinky goodness!

I think I SMELL stinky goodness!

YES!!!
It's stinky goodness time!
Kitties, Mommy is our feeder-person. She feeds us in the morning when she gets up, even before she has her coffee. This is good, cuz sometimes she's a wee bit discombobulated pre-caffeine and we con extra foods out of her.
And she feeds us in the afternoon, usually around the time we get up from our mid-late-second-go-round of afternoon nap(s).
We get Friskies Pate. Mommy buys it by the pallet (edit: I wish!). The flavors we like are purple, blue, brown and pink. We also get Fancy Feast Trout flavor (green can) but Mommy needs to go shopping, soon.
We get fed eight cans in the morning, and four to eight cans for supper, depending how much of our breakfast we've eaten. So we do our best to be porcine felines and clean our bowls before second chow.

Sweet Pea is doing a Quality Control spot inspection here.
Feeding us is an assembly-line chore.
We get two cans per bowl, and Mommy rinses the cans with a little bit of hot water for some gravy. Then she mashes up our food *just right*.

We have four feeding stations. The first one is in the laundry room. I NEVER go in there. As you all know, there is an Evil Clown lurking in the laundry room that wants to eat Me. The Baby, Grayce and Salem eat in here a lot. Obviously the Evil Clown finds them distasteful.

The second feeding station is in the Great Room. You'll notice that our stations are different colors; Daddy made these for us and painted them all different colors. We are terrible messy eaters and the stations contain our tongue-flung food bits.

The third station is in the Yellow Bedroom. This is where I like to eat.
Mommy puts any flavor at any station so we travel around to see what's where. Since there's 12 of us here, we are NOT picky eaters! We eat what there is, because it's all there is, and someone else could eat it first!

The fourth and final station is in the Big Bedroom. I eat here too.
Hi Maui!

Something else we like is *gulp* dog treats.
They are SOOOO tasty!
We get two or three every day and we like to gnaw on 'em and clean our fangs.

And we eat dehydrated chicken strips, too.

Mommy rips them into small pieces and we help ourselves. (Edit: consumption is supervised!)
We know dog treats and chicken strips made in China are probably not the best things for us to eat, but we mainly eat Cat food and like Mommy says, we lick our bottoms and eat each other's yak so a few beetles and rodent hairs in foreign-made food is the LEAST of her worries.
So Kitties, that's the chow situation here at the Katnip Lounge.

Bon Appetit!
XX Felix, reporting from the Catio.
