After long observation (five days), and careful consideration I decided it was time for me to occupy the POANG chair.

The new blanket (that just arrived from Finland [N]*) was a huge inducement, too.

The woven texture is quite pleasing beneath my paw pads!

*turn several times*

*settle in*

And yes, the chair itself is very comfortable.

The verdict:  this is MY chair now.  At least until Mommy turfs me out...

Item 2.  Mommy had a wonderful time on her trip back to her hometown--Elgin, Illinois--and we enjoyed Daddy spoiling us rotten (er).

Item 3.  It has been alleged that I have been stepping out on my Leopard Binky,  This is a LIE!  The photo below is completely construed and does not constitute concrete evidence, nosiree, not at all.

I unequivocally deny that I am all warm and cozy (and snoring--ed.) on the camouflage fleece...I swear to Cod--it's been photoshopped!

In yesterday's post I mentioned my Fave Binky, whereupon Mommy blathered some nonsense made an educated guess about me-n-Binky being Secretly Wedded, which sparked one of the best comments we've ever received from Andrea, Mommy to the Celestial Kitties.  Here it is:

Secretly wedded! I wonder how that ceremony went.. The Baby, as flower girl, sprinkles kitty litter down the aisle as the other kitties sing the wedding song "Meow mow meowmow, meow mow meowmow." The groom drags his bride down the cat food aisle where they are joined forever by Reverend Tiny Johnson. The vows are traditional, "Will you, Felix, take Leopard Binky to be your wedded blankey, to have and to hold, to snuggle and yak on, in hot times and the rare cold desert days, until death or complete shredding do you part." The ceremony ends with (read nothing into this) Salem singing the song made famous by Billie Jo Spears "Blanket on the Ground". The reception is wild, but the bride and groom disappear early to be later found snuggling under the present table. Sigh, so romantic! (I think I need sleep.) 

Well, I have only one thing to say to this--Andrea, how did you KNOW?????

My New Spot

I have a New Spot to sleep!

It's the top corner cushion of the sofa, above where Daddy sits.  I adore it.  Mommy saw me snoozing up here and--she is so awesome--she went and got my all time favorite binky for me to snuggle into.

Well...snuggle into after I finally decide to get up!

The Mommy here:  Felix is extremely weird quite catlike in his sleeping habits; he will choose a new place every few weeks, be totally devoted to it, then later shun it like it never existed.  One thing is a constant though--the leopard binky is numero uno in his eyes!  My current theory is that they are secretly wedded.

Another Tuesday Evening on the Sofa

Since I work evenings, me and the kittehs really treasure our evening couch surfing time on my days off.  After dinner I put on my jammies, get out a fresh snuggling blanket Cat Trap™, a cuppa joe and a donut (my grocery shopping reward) and settle in.  

Before long the trap springs:

After a nice satisfying Sucky Dance she scootles in, just in time for victim number two:

He prefers prime lappage area.  Making it hard to type.

Who likes cool vinyl against her undercarriage instead of the blanket--also, she's CATegorically opposed to sleeping next to any of the Lesser Cats*.

I sure wish I could spend every evening like this...come on, retirement!

I was in the mood for a nap but I just couldn't settle*, so after trying out several spots (and rejecting them all) Mommy made me a tent so I could leave my furblings alone relax and snooze in manly mancat privacy.

Sweet Pea was intrigued by me moving around in my tent, but Mommy distracted her with a wand toy so I could peacefully enter the Land of Nod:

It worked.

Mommy is LAZYPANTS.  Not only does she flit down to Tucson abandoning us to the tender ministrations of Daddy and the Monster Truck--she neglects our blog to boot!  At least she brought back this nice wool blanket; that ought to offset a demerit or two, right?
