Kitties!
Grayce here.
Please excuse the feather stuck to my lips; I've been busy examining the interior filling of the mystery nest, a.k.a. The Feather Bon Bon (FBB).
I told Mommy that Scouty needed to see what was inside so she moved half of the FBB up near the purple hidey-hut where he was snoozing. Within seconds Scouty stuck his head out of the doorway, just like a turtle! He was very interested.
So was his snoozing partner, Johnny.
Scouty enjoyed the FBB so much he started dribbling...and thoughts of tasty feathered flying feasts flittered through his head. He has actually caught (and eaten!) birds on the Catio so he knows how tasty they are, the lucky dog. Wait, can I say that?
Oh well, too late now.
After a few minutes Mr. Argy-Bargy Johnson had to check out the FBB for himself and "muscled" (he claims it's muscle) Scouty out of the doorway.
But only for a minute. The turtle head reappeared as soon as Johnny's bum cleared the arch...
...because Scouty decided that sniffing the FBB wasn't enough, he needed to nom the filling!
(squeee! His gums are starting to get freckled just like Felix's--ed)
Feathers are rather dry and tough to get down but with perseverance--and a barbed tongue--he got the job done.
Tomorrow...a Tongue Extravaganza!
Happy Wednesday!
XX Grayce, Scout, and Muscle-Bound TJ XX
You have such an interesting life in your catio.
ReplyDeleteWe are so happy to see photos of Scouty in his element - he is such a handsome ginger mancat. And he makes a beautiful turtle. That FBB is great stuff. We wonder if you can organise the birdies to make many more so that you could supply us all with such delectable delights.
ReplyDeleteAnd we notice TJ was very kind even though he muscled Scouty out of the way - he emerged so that they could share. Certain cats here would simply block the doorway because they are so large and difficult to move......

We just suddenly had the thought that a turtle shaped napping box with the opening at the head would be SO funny when a kitteh stuck its head out fer a look-see...
ReplyDeleteHarry the Farm cat brought me a birdie today. I was not happy
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of bird, my boys are asking while salivating.
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmmm. That looks, well it looks....I don't even know. I have never seen such a wondrous object! Here in the concrete jungle we have only pigeons and while they must have nests, we suppose, we have yet to see one. *I* want an FBB of my furry own! Good going Scouty--love your dribbles ;-) Sooooo Manly!
ReplyDeleteDid we just learn that Scouty is a "lucky dog"? A dog in cat's fur??? How can this be?! We need a formal investigation.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous, you guys! I want my own bird's nest!
ReplyDeleteGandalf has caught many a birdie... but he doesn't eat them. He just tries to bring them in the house to freak me out.
ReplyDeleteThat last bit usually works.
Awwww lovely Scouty's gotta get his fix of fevvers!! Take care
ReplyDeletex
Scouty caught birds on the catio? How did they get onto the catio? We want to know how to let birds into our house so we can eat some, too. Maybe one of the big turkeys in the living room...

Aw Grayce, what a sweetie you are to think of shy Scouty! And his sleeping companion!
ReplyDeleteScouty looks quite happy with all those feathers! And handsome Johnson, well, he always looks good! Have fun you guys!
The fevvers in the FBB look very interesting. Mum doesn't like us catching flying fevvers, but sometimes we do and then we eat them. We always leave the wings though.
ReplyDeleteOh Grayce
ReplyDeleteGuess what Mr Jinx uncovered in our house today? A lizard. A big one. Mom didn't have a camera but she saved the silly thing before Mr Jinx could make lizard meat outta him so I understand about dribbling.
Looks like you are really enjoying that nest.
ReplyDeleteYou guys have ALL the fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna tell Glogirly that I want to lay around all day with my feat up, eating feather bon-bons.
; ) Katie
What great fun to have all those fevvers to nom and smell. Lots of baby birds used to be in that one. I am so glad you mentioned fre4ckles on Scouty because Orange boyzo has them too and I didn't know what was going on with him. Glad you are all having such a good time.

Ms. Stella O'Houligan
Mmmmmmm....bird flavor....mmmmmmm....
ReplyDeletewell. that does look like fun. crunchy too. we hope you all will share.
ReplyDeletebut, word to the wise...giving a blog post the title: "Tongue Extravaganza," will get you more eyeballs than you intended and a lot of them will be disappointed. Just saying. I learned this when I posted a blog called "Ping Pong Power Puss." Lots of sorely disappointed search engine users that day. heh heh heh...
Oh Boy! Yous guys has had lots of fun with that nest!
ReplyDeleteHow does yous talks your Mommy into that?
Kisses
Nellie
Scouty,
ReplyDeleteYou are no fool! I play with fevver toys that way & my mommy calls me a hermit crab. Pay no attention & protect those vulnerable parts!
Kitty kisses,
MMM
This is so funny! The cats are really getting into the act here.
