Just a quick post: Felix is home and sleeping off the remains of his anesthesia. He had a cleaning only--no extractions--but he's still quite the drunken sailor as the vet got a very late start and released him a bit "soon", and that was at 7 pm. When we got home he had a bite to eat (out of every single bowl!), the world's longest wee, all the while his tail vibrating like an indignant harp string. He's all settled in on Dad's bed, where I expect he'll be until morning...
...even though it's oddly angled and out of focus:
Kitties!
Rupert here.
For the record, I am not a pinhead. I am Mommy's Most Handsomely Proportioned Grey Man and I will punish anyone who thinks otherwise with my vishus fangs.
As many of you guessed, we were at the EbilVet's Office in Friday's Post. For some reason the peeps thought we had stinky breafs (the nerve!) and dirty teef...and they were prepared to pay beaucoup green papers to make those two things go away.
We had some thoughts about the car ride:
(caution--may contain language unsuitable for younger or more sensitive kittehs)
Sad to report, it really went downhill from there...we were cat-handled into the back where our bloods were stolen, we were sequestered and starved overnight, and, in the morning, whilst weak from loss of blood and lack of sustenance the Vet slipped us a Mickey and knocked us out cold! What happened after that we're not quite sure but when we came to our teefs were sparkling (NO extractions!) our claws were trimmed down to nubbins and our anal glands seem oddly empty...as was Mommy's checking account, heh heh heh.
But NOT empty enough, apparently--Felix and The Baby are up next week!
After spending untold hours and days sleeping next to Mommy while she was prostrated with flu*, working our little paw pads to the bone, THIS is how we were rewarded:
And it got worse.
MUCH worse!
Horrible, hungry worse...
**shudder**
Stay tuned, Monday we will tell the entire story--in the meanwhile, feel free to speculate upon the nature of our ordeal--which was (did we mention?) AWFUL.
I'm licking my chops after crunching up some Catio Chips.
They are *just* purrfect for a nice teef-cleaning gnaw.
They sure are yummy...and I want to tell you that Daddy miscalculated costs, so there is a new price sheet posted--LOWER prices! Those of you who have ordered (thank you very much!) will see a refund reflecting the difference.
(Click the link o the sidebar if you're interested...and every purchase this week will earn an entry into the drawing for one of TWO sets of tie-dyed tea towels!)
Sly is out of surgery, no extractions, and his wart is HISStory...HURRAH!
Daddy will pick him up around 3 PM.
It remains to be seen if we'll hiss at him with vet-skank all over his fur suit...
Kitties!
The Three Stooges here.
Mommy! You type what we TELL you.
*ahem*
Rupert, CC, and Johnny here.
Rupert: CC, did you hear what happened? Sylvester got hauled off to the V-E-T!
CC: Holy COD! That's terrible news...
Who can I tell? Who can I tell?
Hey Johnny!
Sylvester's at the Place That Shall Remain Unnamed!
John: Sheesh--where have you guys been napping, under a rock? He's gonna get his teefs cleaned and have that weird skin tag on his side removed. You know, the one he's always nibbling on (with his scummy teeth) and making it bleed. Mommy dropped him off early so we all don't have to starve tonight for his surgery tomorrow.
Rupert: Oh. Gosh, I hope he'll be alright, it's scary being away from home.
CC: We'd better start purring! I love Sylvester.
Johnny: All together now...
*puuurrrrrrr*
Happy Toofy Tuesday!
XX The Silly Boys XX
pee ess: I'll post an update tomorrow, the vet doesn't anticipate any problems. Hopefully our big tuxedo man will be home late afternoon, minus some tartar and a dime-sized wart. ~The Mommy
Don't let anybody tell you differently, I was a tiger at the Ebil Vet's Office. I fought and clawed and screamed...pay NO attention to the lovely Dr. Bennett who said I was "doll" and whom I head-butted and loved on and purred so hard she could barely listen to my heart.
(I might be a little in lurve with her...)
In fact, let me tell you about my experience in purrson:
For the Humans out there who don't speak Cattese, here's the translation:
Mommy, they STARVED me overnight!
Mommy, they shaved my LEG!
There were DOGS!
Mommy, they stolemy BLUDS!
I took a nice nap, Mommy.
Mommy, I woke up and I was STILL THERE!!
Wow. My fangs feel nice and clean.
Hmmmm, my claws are blunted; probably because I fought so valiantly!
Mommy, ARE WE THERE YET???
HURRY!!!!!
Mommy: Felix was a trooper, he did fine with the anesthesia! He was all perky when I picked him up at 3 PM. He still has all his teeth and didn't come home with any antibiotics--Dr. Bennett said his teeth and gums were in great condition and there was minimal bleeding, so no need to stress him unnecessarily. (I can pill a cat like nobody's business but Felix is a handful, so a big sigh of relief there.) He's eight years old, so I had them do a Senior blood panel and he's in tip-top shape, all his numbers were fine. No vaccines, the vet's office respects my position on them and know we have a closed colony. As soon as we got home Daddy whisked Felix indoors where he promptly ate, used the box, shed all over, (anxiety shedding--holy cow what a lot of fur!) and stomped off for a nap. Right now he's on Scott's desk, pestering.
