Thursday in the Garden with The Baby

Kitties!

The Baby here.
::Purrrrr::

Kitties,  I am starting to get my bones back when I have the Dreaded Harness on.
And I have decided on a fitting revenge.

I'm gonna TATTLE on Mommy & Daddy.
heh heh.

*

We have two citrus trees in our backyard, an Orange and a Lemon.
Their blossoms smell wonderful in the Spring.
Here I am undernearth the Orange tree.  Do you orange see the Orange hanging down?  There's a lot of them!
Citrus fruit takes a loooong time to ripen, Daddy will pick them in late December or early January.

*

 OK, here's the tattle.
This is the Lemon tree when it first came home.  Daddy buys a lot of reject sale plants at the end of the year, and gives 'em his special "Green Thumb" treatment--and they thrive!
Sometimes the plant ID tags are missing.
Sometimes Daddy loses them and forgets what he bought...which was the case with the Lemon tree.  Daddy thought it was a LIME tree!

So the "Lime" tree grew and grew, and made fruit for the first time last year.
Mommy & Daddy picked the "Limes"  in November, thinking they were ripe.
The Lemon tree in Spring 2010.

Here are some of the "Limes".  They were (according to Mommy & Daddy) "Pretty Dang Tart!", although they made a kick-butt margarita.
Then, in February, Mommy made a discovery.  She found a few more fruits in the tree, and they were YELLOW!  The Lime tree was really a LEMON!

Hahahahahahaha!

Lemon Tree = 1

May Ling Lets it All Hang Out

Kitties!

Miss May Ling here to tell you how to get a good arm and paw stretch.
(and to show off for Simon!)
This move is called "Air Biscuit".

First, get in a comfortable position, and let your arms hang down, with toes relaxed.

Stretch out your neck, and squeeze your toes together.

Turn your head in the opposite direction, and splay your toes out!
Repeat until you feel the burn in your toesies, or you have more air buscuits than you know what to do with.

Daddy!  Did I give you pemission to try for arty camera angles during my lesson?

I think NOT!

Oh well, we were done anyway!
No sense in overdoing it.
Remember to have a light snack and a refreshing drink after ALL exercise.

Mice Krispie Treats and Tuna Juice are excellent choices.

Kitties, have a Great Thursday!

Mommy the Renagade

Kitties!
You might think Our Mommy is an obedient, law-abiding person.
Nope.
Mommy is a SCAFFLAW!
Check THIS out!
No Mommy...don't cut the tag off!
You could go to JAIL!
Who will feed us?

NOOOOOOOOO!

Kitties, she laughed like a Hyena the entire time.
We're gonna starve, we just know it.

Theriously Thirsty Thursday

Kitties!
It's HotHotHot Outside!
It's Summer, and Monsoon season, which means, believe it or not, it's Humid here in the Desert.

This is Daddy's remote thermometer. Daddy enjoys the Lady taking her clothes off as it gets Hotter. Mommy says if she were truly a Vegas girl (the Lady, not Mommy), she'd go down to Pasties and a G-string, whatever THOSE are.
ANYHOO...it's pretty darn hot.
So we drink a lot of water to stay cool. We have several places we like to sip...
The first is the Drinkwell fountain in the Great room. It's pretty convenient for Maui to refill his "Front Door Sprayer" (patent pending) after he gets upset watching the intruder kitty out the window to the left.

The next sippin' spot is the PetWell Crock in the Yellow bedroom. The PetWell suffered a small accident a while back, but Daddy fixed it with some 2-part epoxy. Thanks, Daddy! KonaKitty likes to lean up against the crock and trail her mane in the water. When she does this we call her a "Catalo", kinda a mix between a Cat & Water Buffalo. She's a real good sport and doesn't mind it when we call her that...

This is the PRIMO watering hole. Mommy gets all excited and shouts when she sees us, bums in the air, sipping away!

Here is our last place for a drink...the outside Catio DrinkWell fountain. We have a little house over it to keep out the worst of the dust and debris that blows on the Catio. Mommy puts ice in the bowl part to cool the water down when it gets really hot like it is now.
Note the Evil Dyson on it's anti-whizzing stand.
And there's KonaKitty, squashed up against the cool foundation. She likes the heat!
Kitties, please make sure you stay hydrated if it's hot where you are, and stay cozy warm if it's cold.
Have a Great Thursday!

Thursday Kreatures with Kona

Kitties!
It's me, the Shy Kat...KonaKitty.
I like to hang back and watch what's going on at the Lounge. You can see a lot of interesting things that way. At night I snuggle under the covers with Mommy and tell her all about my day.
So let's close our eyes...and remember some of the wildlife that I've seen lately...

The Baby. Daddy lets her Out for a few minutes every morning for a supervised stroll. She took advantage of a moment of distraction to roll in the dirt!

Mister Lizard, aka George. Technicnally he's indoors but at one point he was outside...RIP, George.

Mister Hummingbird, in the Lemon tree.

The wild-n-crazy Hippy Dippy Dude! Very elusive and this was a rare sighting!

Snakey Sidewinder. He's about the size of a pencil. Daddy escorted him (in a box) to the desert across the street.

Missus Hummingbird, sipping from the feeder.

Meep Meep! It's the Roadrunner! Watch out, Wiley Coyote!

Mrs. Black Widow. This is an old picture, from our first year in our house. Mommy & Daddy have a bug guy now!

Dedded de-stingered Scorpion! This one we left on the Catio for Daddy to find...heh heh heh.

Praying Mantis...we like to see these in the yard, they eat those nasty brown roaches. You know, the ones we leave for Mommy to find and squeal over.

So Kitties, that's what Me and Mommy talk about at night...all the stuff I see during the day. She's always really interested, and of course she gives me great pets and kissies, too!
So long for now...and I'll be watching!
Happy Thursday Kitties!

Thursday...Salem's Revenge!

Kitties!
Salem here.
Well, the Strangers are gone, Thank Cod.
Even though I did warm up to the big Beans and The Sticky Little Person, things were a little rough at the beginning.
Here's what happened: Daddy was helping the SLP learn to pet Me. He was stroking Me from head to tail-tip, which I love...I was next to the ottoman and I started to go around it, when ALL OF A SUDDEN the SLP decided to pet Me! So far so good, right, kitties?
WRONG!
The SLP didn't let go when she got to the end of my tail!
I took off like a rocket when I realized that the SLP wanted My Tail for her own...and I towed that SLP all the way around the ottoman and beyond!
Well, she did let go (My Tail is still attatched) and we were both a little embarrased. So we decided to become Friends...and I got some nice pets after that.
Here's a picture of Me and My Tail:

Oh, and here's another view:

Now Kitties, I may be a Nice Cat but I'm NOT a Good Cat.
I knew that even though I got pettins and lovins, I'd be getting revenge-ins, too.
And since I'm a Bad Cat but not a Stupid Cat, I decided that some household paper products must Die. I started with the kitchen paper toweling. It fought bravely, but it was no match for Me.
As a bonus, some OtherKitty came by after Me and peed on it!
Score!

Next, I anihilated the toilet tissue.
MWAH hahahahahahaha!

And Kitties, don't EVEN think I'm finished yet. Mommy insists on leaving the paper towels out on the kitchen counter and I noticed some fun papers on her desk...

heh heh.

THE END!
Have a Great Thursday Kitties!
I think tomorrow some of the gang is going show off the things they've dedded recently...
