The Planets Collide

Me and Maui are the two biggest cats in the house these days* and when we sleep together our collective mass warps the fabric of space time bed and we gradually coalesce into one big hot furry suPURRnova.

Mommy likes to call us The Planets--we both have lots of pals circling us like little moons--and for some reason (which I'm sure you can imagine--ed.) she chose to nickname us after two of the gas giants in our solar system, Jupiter and Uranus.  *I* am Jupiter, thank Cod, because Mommy thinks it is the epitome of wit to spot Maui and crow "Here's Uranus!"  

In front of company, even.

Which is maybe why we're sleeping bum-to-bum here...hiding our black holes!

Felix may think he's got the coziest napping spot in the house (with or without his "wife", Ms L. Binky), but *I* happen to know that the Best Napping Spot Evah is between the pillows at the head of Mommy's bed!

Seriously...check it out!  There's a ready-made cat-sized crevasse between the unimaginably soft and squishy pillows giving the spot an extremely a high cradling factor; and this nice shiny bedspread is perfect to curl up in--and shed onto--and also quite good for claw snags (as you can see).

Incidentally, there's plenty of room for any interested lady cats...

Last night, just for fun, I stuck my paw in Mommy's mouth while she was sleeping.  She woke up with a muffled (cos my paw was in there) scream and scolded me...and then squoozled me under the covers with her for some big time spooning as "punishment" for my transgression.

I think I'll do it again tonight...

Do you see this sheet I'm sat upon?  They're flannel, covered in kitties, and they're NEW!

Mommy got them from her folks as a fun Birthday present (not yet, January 31st--ed.) and she immediately laundered and put 'em into service.

The flannel fabric is verreh comfy on my sensitive hairy behind, and I told Mommy just how happy I was about that.  You won't have to turn up the sound very much to hear me purring like a locomotive:

White-n-Black Wednesday

Mommy is going to have to draw up a Roster of Occupation; the newest bed is ginormously popular.

Thank you again, King P and family--especially their Äiti and her opposable thumbs--making biscuits has never been so convenient!

Thursday Thnuggle

I mean, shhhhhhhh...Kitties...

Look who settled in bed with me last night, Miss Pea and Rupert!

Luckily I had my phone so I got a shot of the adorableness.  Generally these two come to bed for a  visit and some loveys, but separately, with Sweet Pea on my left and Rupert on the right.  Rarely do they settle down together for a cuddle; that activity is reserved for the garden window.

They were still ensconced when I turned off the light after an hour, and when I woke up to turn over mid-way through the night they were gone--but the spot was still warm--so the snuggle-fest lasted a good 4-5 hours total.

No wonder I slept so well!

Moody Mancat Monday

We were congregating on the bed one evening, having a Top Secret Mancat Meeting when Mommy rudely barged in on us.  Naturally, we shot our lasers beams to scare her away!

Undeterred, she managed another shot but it was so badly lit that we had to turn it into a black-n-white photo--but you know what--we really like it!  We think it lends a certain mysterious quality to our fursons...

Tongue Trials

Mommy ordered me us her and Daddy two new feather pillows for the sofa and some fun fabric to make pillowcases for them.  Everything was delivered so today she ran them up on her sewing machine and then *I* got to give them the initial Test Drive!

They seem nice and cushy...

...but you can never be sure. 

 Further mileage was required, so I took 'em out for a grueling trial on the dangerous and intimidating washboard road course.

I rounded the shoulders...

cruised onto the back stretch...

and into the curves...full tongue ahead!

The verdict?

These pillows are definitely roadworthy, and ready to ride into the Land of Nod.

Two-fer Tuesday Texts

Mommy has been engrossed in re-reading the Song of Ice and Fire series lazy lately, and can you believe we almost had nothing to show y'all for today's post?

Thank Cod Daddy texted her a couple of pics of some recent goings-on!

Sylvester usurped The Baby from her bed in the laundry room...

...but that's OK, because Daddy gave her a binky in the cupboard above the refrigermatator! 

We've been dying to get up there and explore for ages--but the cupboard was chock full o'crap (Mommy's description) and there was no room in there, at all.  Well.  Daddy took care of that*...making this the elebenty-billionth spot for sleeping in our house.

Do we rule or what, kitties?

Oh and Mommy?  Clean the top of that thing--it's feelthy!

In other news, the offensively touchy-feely human offspring of Mommy and Daddy has arrived, upsetting my purrfectly orchestrated schedule.  However, I admit this may not be all bad--I was able to wake everybody up at 5 AM yesterday morning, an entire hour earlier than normal!   I will continue to scheme to work this turn of events to my advantage...

Well, I'm having a wonderful time at my parent's Shadow's house.  Saturday I had a 2-hour nap, the first one in weeks.  Bliss.  After all the hubbub of late it's nice to to have no responsibilities for a few days.  Shadow is such a sweet kitty, although she's definitely Mom and Dad's cat, she does enjoy a few pets from me.  She sure loved the valerian root I brought, though!

I have a question for you Apple users.  My Mom has an iPad 1 (the oldest) and when she opens an embedded link (like YouTube) there appears to be no way back to the original page.  So, do the newer versions allow you to navigate back to the original page or is that a glitchy feature of the latest iPad as well?  Or is there a secret way "back" that only certain Apple people know?  Mom really loves her iPad and would like to get a new one but the navigation issue is a deal breaker.

I'll be lurking around for a few days yet.  It's been so much fun to read your posts, those of you who did a Catio feature.  I am going to do a round-up post and put all the links in one place for everyone to enjoy, along with a video I made of the Catio.

Scott reports that The Baby is feeling better, and that she took her pills at the vet's office like a good little trouper.  She enjoys car rides (!!!) and the vet is only 10 minutes away so it's only a half-hour round trip for the two of them.   Fingers crossed she'll be around to pester bestow her benevolence upon us for many years to come.

Well, off to relax some more.

Cinnamon Cat Danish

Mommy washed the round beddy that goes in the chair out on the Catio.  I got into it as soon as she put it back where it belongs at all times and I don't care if it was filthy and covered with furs.

I really love me a fresh beddy even though it means that this one inexplicably disappears periodically without my permission.

I made exactly 7,452,394 biscuits, getting the stuffing just right.

It was exhausting work, and I fell asleep before I could knead the 7,452,395th biscuit.

I was even too tired to pull my claws back in!
