Rumor has it that Mommy has ordered a walking vest (size:Whale) and a lead for me.  Apparently *I* am going to start strolling.  Mommy has Strong Opinions about weight management and how my girth has gotten, well, honestly, a wee tad outta hand.   

I am practicing for the first time she puts the dratted contraption on me by flopping over and rolling my eyes.

However...I do think going Outside might be fun, though...so I'm reserving final judgement for later.  After all, there are lizards and birdies beyond the back door.

We shall see, kitties--we shall see.

Cooking With Salem

The peeps love to see us in the Loaf position, with our legs all tucked under; for example, Mommy will ask Daddy "What did you do with the cat's legs?" and Daddy will answer "I cut 'em off and ate 'em!" and then they dissolve with laughter.  Well.  What with the never ending threats to turn Scouty into stew I decided that maybe it would be a smart idea to keep my legs in plain view to prevent myself from being turned into an entree.

Thus a full tuck in front, but do you see that back footie peeping?  It'll save me from becoming a feline fricassee, I'm sure.

Although Mommy does say I have such nice plump thighs.

Kitties, I may be in trouble here...

So what's a Cat to do to stay warm out on the Catio?

Demonstrated below are three Tried and True™ techniques:

1.  I like to snuggle in a nice cosy beddy.

2.  Rupert and Scouty step the warmth up a notch, doubling down the heaty factor with two bodies in a beddy.

3.  And Salem?  Salem don't need no stinkin' beddy...she relies on her thick dense layer of blubber winter coat to keep her warm.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

Uh oh...she *may* have heard me.

Time to beat a hasty retreat.

It's HOT here, and humid too, out on the Catio.  It's like elebenty-hunnert degrees out there, at least.  So I like to come indoors and stretch out my tummy on the cool tile.

You know what I'm gonna do for revenge?  Tonight, when we snuggle in bed I'm gonna make some armpit bread that will have him begging for mercy.  'Cos not only am I going to treat him to my Mighty Front Picker Claws, I'm going to unleash my Nursing Corn Teefs on his tender inner arms as well!  Serves him right, right?
