If I look a bit discombobulated in this photo, well, it's because I am.

Friday morning, with no warning whatsoever (so I could HIDE) I was stuffed placed gently into a carrier and hauled off to the vet's office for a GROOMING, for a variety of reasons:

  I'm shedding my summer coat

I loathe being brushed

I BITE

I had tons of mats which appeared overnight

I'm too arthritic to attend to the mats myself

I bite HARD

My unbelievably long clicking toenails need to be professionally trimmed, because, you guessed it, I BITE.

Nothing wrong with the ol' jaws on this ladycat!

Unfortunately the groomer lady scared me witless wore chain mail which meant I forgot to give her a big juicy chomp, so she shaved my mats, gave me a bath-n-blow dry, a comb out, AND trimmed my talons without any loss of blood.

I feel a lot better now though...I may have to admit the whole ordeal wasn't all THAT bad.

They worked too, cos I didn't see her any more after that...

Hungover.

Sylerster here.  On the coffee table.

Did you know I am the LARGEST cat in the house?

That's right!

I weigh nineteen pounds (8.6 kgs) and according to the vet in my opinion it's all jello mighty mancat muscle.

The coffee table is too tiny to hold all of me, my loooooong sleek tail drapes down no matter how I situate myself.

And there's not enough space for my handsome chinny chin chin, either.

I'm feeling great these days...last week I got a B-A-T-H and I rather liked it!  Not the actual bathing part--although it wasn't that bad--but I have dry skin on my back and it was so nice to get all clean, all over, all at once.  My tuxedo is bright and shiny now; no flakes!  Daddy says since I was such an easy bather he'll "do" me a few times a year.

Hmmmmm, maybe I should have struggled a little bit more...

There were some weird goings-on around here Wednesday.  Mommy disappeared out the door with some of my furblings, and a little while later returned with what appeared to be totally different kittehs!

They looked different.

They smelled different.

I decided to introduce myself--it never hurts to be friendly to newbies--but upon closer inspection I got the surprise of my life: 

I already knew this kitty!  

It was my sisfur Sweet Pea.

*big sigh of relief*

Thank Cod the only bath I got was on my forehead.

Seppo's Ordeal

We have conclusive evidence that all was not wine and roses Catnip and Chikkun with the Finland Gang when Mommy was visiting...we found a video on her cloud drive of her giving Seppo--the Nekkid Sphynxie--a...a...a...

BATH.

**shudders**

And it gets worse.  Under severe questioning, Mommy admitted to administering not just one, but TWO water torture sessions!  Apparently there was a camera error the first time, and thus the "extra" (a week later) bath.  Mommy tried to justify her behavior by claiming that Sphynx cats need a bath every week or so because they have oily skin but we think she's lying to us and the TRUTH is she's just a perv who enjoys washing shriveled mancat sultanas--which explains the look of diabolical joy on her face in yesterday's post!

We took a poll amongst ourselves and the vote was unanimous:  If Mommy ever feels any urge whatsoever to bathe cats, she can go back to Finland!

Tuxedo, Tongue, and Toothbrush

I was doing a little tummy-tidying...

...which *may* have led to some Washing of the Nethers.

Later that morning, while Mommy was in the shower, I nibbled on her toothbrush.  Mommy saw me.  She shrieked.  I kept on chewing--what can I say, I was enjoying the fresh minty taste and spiky texture--why should I have to stop, just because she says to?

No way.

Suddenly, Mommy burst out of the shower stall, brandishing her loofah!

I might have been alarmed if I hadn't been fleeing the sudsy peep giggling so hard.  It was all enormously fun and I think I might have to do it again tomorrow.

Maui Overhears Ominous News

Mommy was on the phone last week.  I heard her uttering words like "groom", and "shave".  Ominous words, like the mood in my photo.

I thought if I closed one eye and listened hard her words would sound brighter.

Alas, my understanding remained blurred.

Whatever.  I refuse to worry.

Because there's no way that Mommy can find me here!  It's too dark.

Monday Maintenance

The Baby, a.k.a. Filthy Dirty Whitey (FDW), here. 

I'm sun-basking in my favorite spot behind the arborvitae.  Every morning I endlessly pester kindly allow Daddy to escort me outside to pee in the soil of Nevada (me, not him!), sniff all the plants, (me again) eat weeds (Daddy abstains) and saunter on down the walk (closely followed by Daddy).  Once we reach the far corner, I head up into the raised bed and settle in for a tiny rest whilst Daddy sits on the garden bench, on hawk patrol.

Naturally I get debris all over me, hence the cunning sobriquet FDW.

heh heh

I usually like to bring some if not all of my collected filth indoors to deposit any and everywhere I can, but this particular morning something was poking me.

It was this pesky little piece of mulch.

Holy Carp!

Late Friday Post!

Mommy had such a busy last night after work she FORGOT to fire up the laptop for us!

If it wasn't for the whole Lack of Thumbs thing we would fire her, her lameness of late is getting all out of hand and stuff.       

Fortunately (for her) she had some gratuitous bathing pictures of me stored in the Cloud--a weird place to put stuff if you ask this kitteh--but at least it's something.

My feets are so clean the only spots on my toes are the Lentigo! (freckles)

Catio KATastrophe!!!

Kitties!

Today was too awful for words.

But we'll try for a few. 

Inside the Torture Chamber. 

KonaKitty was the first victim customer. 

She got a shampoo, blow out, and the mats shaved off her hocks. 

Maui was next. 

He was less than impressed! 

One shampoo, blow dry, and dematting later, he's twice as fluffy! 

They saved the worst for last...

Johnny got SHAVED! 

...and a bath.

No blow dry though, he decided he'd had enough and peed in protest. 

Checking to make sure everything is still there.

psssssst, don't tell anybody, but I actually really like it!
